Question - are we close to the point of doing an OTJ trial? Mala has been on one drop for quite a few days now, and her highest numbers are in the low 100s, but only in the AMPS.

Input?

I believe one week of green numbers is the indication to start an OTJ trial.

Would one of you marvelous and experienced folks have a look at Mala's SS? Since the first, she has slipped into very low blues for three spot checks. I believe she will be ready for her trial this weekend, but if wiser heads think she needs longer, I will of course demur. Lately, Mala has only been getting around one drop of insulin AM and PM, so her dose is extremely low.

Suggestions, ideas?

Just wanted to congratulate you on Mala's success....she is doing wonderful. Hopefully someone will come along soon regarding the OTJ trial.

IMHO I would keep Yemala on insulin for a little while longer. With a couple of higher blue numbers I think it is wise to support the pancreas as long as her numbers call for it. She will have a better chance of staying OTJ longer. It is hard to be patient when you are so close. ;-)

I'm sure you are right. I want her to stay at the falls as long as her pancreas will permit. We'll keep her going on insulin as long as you wise people think she should.
