5/4- Shakes - got sick this morning-HELP

Hi everyone,
hope all is well out there!

we are not feeling to well today
He projectile vomited water today with a little bit of food..
never happened before, so I guess he is drinking too much water and I have to up the insulin
I was thinking of upping him to 2.25 tonight as I had given him his shot at 5am this morning
ANy input on this....and does the vomit affect the 5am shot?

I don't think I would increase by that much at a time. We usually recommend going up by .2u or .25u at a time.

If he vomited up alot of food after his injection I would make sure he eats again.

Curoius..why does he have to eat again? he did not throw up alot of food, mainly water..
ok I will increase by .25 tonight and see waht happens

If he didn't throw up much food he doesn't have to eat again. They need to have food on board for the insulin. That's why it is usually recommended that we test, feed (wait 20 minutes to make sure they keep the food down), then shoot.

Hope all is well! I hate when they throw up....it always seems so violent when mine do...and they always have to do it on the carpet or worse yet the bed!

you did nt read wrong, I am just a bundle of nerves because I have never seen him do this before
It wasnt the normal throw up
he kind of jerked back opened his mouth and the water came flying out!

I am going crazy at work today with worry!
 
Sounds like scarf and barf but with water, maybe he just drank to much water too fast. Mine will run out from the tiled floor to barf on the carpet every time.
