Good Morning LL!!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) And Happy Caturday to everyone!
In the wee hours of the morning I heard this rustling in the kitchen... thought for sure we had an intruder.... it seems however that Elsa had found Mannie's espresso machine and was busy trying to figure it out. The Manual was on the counter, ice cream containers wherever there was space, espresso beans scattered all over the floor... I snuck back the way I had come, and let her be. When I woke this morning I found this steaming cup of brew: a foamy cappuccino with what seems to be her signature floating on the top: A dollop of ice cream, cimmamum flavor. now if we can just teach her how to make Mannie's 10 hour energy ~O) we are good to go!

Thank you everyone who visited yesterday. I hope your day was as good as mine! Nicholas and I went swimming. Another day of water logged bodies, wrinkles prune fingers, and straw hair, and chlorine in our pores....   What fun it was. Another 2.5 hours of water fun. I don't think he missed one aspect of that pool, yet again. I am in awe still of his ability in, and love of, underwater. Silly kid can do maybe 10/15 feet before he pops up. Crazy stuff, but I love it. We went and walked a small trail system that is next to the pool after round one of lunch. He just had to be out there, looking for what he calls his jungle.   Jungle = a few areas under the tree canopies. Bear and he went tree climbing - well they tried too... Mega fun for us, and Bear. After that back for more lunch. NOM NOM NOM = peanut butter overloaded with jelly....   no dummie there! Nicholas kept telling me he didn't need a nap. oh sure.... crashed when we got home and it took an act of congress to get him up in time to go meet his dad. sheshhh! it was nice though to spend some time out just walking a trail system with him, even as small as that one is. Here is the Picassa link to the photos and the videos: Swimming, Pool Trail

Nicholas asked about Mannie yesterday. He was talking about all the pills Mannie took, and his kitty, and somehow it all wound up with "Mannie is gone?" There was this moment of sadness for him while he thought about it when I said yes he was. He really does miss his buddy. He then asked me "Mannie good?" I told him he was, and that brought a smile, followed by "Man-NIE is hap-PY!" Yes, little man, that he is.

Have a great day everyone! I hope maybe to go hiking today. We shall see, as the yard really needs some attention too.... Our weather is Fantastic: sun, blue skies, not one cloud, and warm! I wonder what will win out.... yard? hike? hmmmmm.....

And kitties? think BLUE, think GREEN!

Morning Michelle, oh how funny with Elsa finding Mannie Espresso machine, and also endearing and the beans all over the floor. Tell Elsa I would love one of her foamy cappuccinos, as I am dying for a good cup of coffee right now. ~O) ~O) I watched two of the swim videos earlier and then got sidetracked here. What fune he is having going underwater and with the trail thingy. Beautiful pics of the outdoor trail and lunch and winding up falling asleep, so sweet.
Have a great hike today and glad it's nice weather.

mmmm...coffee floats.....perfect for warmer weather! Thank you, Elsa! ~O) ~O)
(Now we need an ice cream smilie, too!)

I love the underwater pics of your little fishy! He is getting so big!
And the jungle trip looked fun ~ the pic of Nicholas and Bear sitting on a log together ~ tugged at my heartstrings BIG TIME.
How amazing that you document his adventures!

It's neat how your routines with Mannie became imprinted on Nicholas, too. Your DGS has a big heart.

Enjoy your day and those sunbeams, Michelle!!

Hi Michelle,

I loved your photos. I really love following not only the adventures of Nicholas, but also the adventures of Bear! That guy is hilarious!

I did love seeing the photo of Mannie's paw print, cuddled up in Bear's lap  It is good to hear how Nicholas is still trying to assimilate what has happened to Mannie, but also that he seems to be handling it in a very healthy way. I wish that I could get such a good perspective on things! Nicholas is wise beyond his years in many ways.

I like what Elsa has brewing today. Yum!

HI Michelle.....I hope you're having a fantastic day. I love to hear that your weather is so nice. It's about time :-D

I too, am so pleased at how Nicholas is handling Mannie's absense. What a sweetheart he is. :-D

That Elsa is one smart cookie. I can't wait for her to get this coffee and ice cream thing going full time. She really has to learn to be quieter in the morning. :-D

Happy Caturday Evening everyone! This is from Elsa ---->

WooHOO for sunny days, blue skies ad 75 degree weather, My hike was GREAT! I went to Deception pass, about an hour 's drive north of here. Its located on the north end of Whidbey Island, and host to some darn incredible views, water passages and one of the most photographed bridges in the state. I had such a great time. It got very busy there about 1PM as all the families started to show up for a day at the beach, BBQ included. I will posy the Picassa link in tomorrows LLips condo.

Hi Ann (Tess) - I agree! and I did - a ton of fun!

Hi Ann (Maggie) - LOL on Elsa... always a good story to tell. In will tell her that she has customer #1 and she had better start thinking expansion.  I am so glad that you like the pics and the videos. Yes, he really does love the water - and is getting darn good at it. I thought so too - all that work and then BAM! He's out like a light: ready for a nap....

HI Carla - THX! I did just that - it was fun, and a great day to be outdoors. I so agree... the yard wills till be here tomorrow....

Hi Josie - I know! I looked for a smilie that would fit, but really didn't find the right one.... THX on eh pics. I love the underwater ones too, they are my favs. hard to do, but once in a while I get a good one. :-D I so agree too on that pic of Nicholas and Bear on the log. It was just perfect. THX on Nicholas: I to find that he has a very big heart - he remembers Mannie, and loves what he remembers. He still remembers the routines of Mannie's and will comment on one of them each day he is here. Kinda cool. Yupp love those sunbeams - thank you Mannie!

Hi Liz - I think so too on Nicholas - he does remember, and those memories are good.

Hi Linda. Many thank yous! I love taking them and am glad people like them, see something in them that they enjoy. LOL on Bar.I started that one day on a lark and it really took off, especially with Nicholas. He loved(s) having a buddy with him on these outings of ours. Bear gets to do everything that Nicholas does, and then some. it's been fun to think up photo ops for Bear.  I so agree on that pawprint photo - it just struck me when I as prepping the day that it should be there. Best buds there too! I so agree on Nicholas: he's handling it all well, remembers his buddy in a good way. We could all learn something from the manner in which a child handles such things, especially this one. LOL on Elsa - guess she had better get proficient with that espresso maker - expectations are brewing!

Hi Barb - I did! the day was beyond fantastic. What a gorgeous hike. I so agree on nciholas - he has such a healthy outlook on it all. He's cheered me up so many times. all he has to say is "Man-NIE is hap-PY! " LOL on Elsa.... I so agree! What a mess she was making. That part of Mannie did not rub off on her! I told her this morning that she's going to have to get on board. She has customers....

OK.... this bean is tired! Pizza and a cold frothy beverage awaits! YAHOO!

I'm glad you got out hiking today - it was beautiful! Time for sun screen. :-D I am looking forward to the Deception Pass photos. I've only ever driven by there.

I'm still chuckling at your yesterday's video of Nicholas eating sand.  No wonder you have such fun with him.

Hi Wendy! THX, me too. It was a good day for it, prefect temps there at deception. I hope you will like the photos. I find it to be such a gorgeous area, with views of the ocean/sound to be quite nice. LOL on that video - he is such a boy! I so had to laugh when he did that. He had been piling all this sand on my lap, then he did that.  100% boy.
