This morning our hearts are very heavy for Roni, Brad, and Moonie; we send you hugs, prayers, and our deepest sympathy. Fly free sweet Copper...you will be so missed.

Despite Gracie's less than most excellent adventures yesterday   she seems to be feeling well today. She and Tobey are on the front enclosed patio diligently keeping track of birds. I had to practically drag them in last night as little creatures come into the courtyard at night and the kits are glued to the screen almost salivating...as if they know what a ground squirrel tastes like  So she has recovered just fine from Mom's ineptitude yesterday morning in not monitoring the food closely and Tobey eating Gracie's +1 breffis and then again last night when the little thief pried open Tobey's glass jar of food and ate a good portion of WN chicken and herring. That didn't really seem to affect her much so that's good. She apparently surfed the same numbers all night. Really hoping for a clearing of this bounce today. I know this will shock most of you so please sit down: I held the f .5u dose

Quick civvie update: took Teddi back to vet yesterday as we've not been able to keep her on any methimazole (oral or transdermal). She put her on aloe to calm her tummy and prevent vomiting(this is also very good for constipation), gave me a special ointment for her ears, and put her on another supplement for general support. We also restarted the oral methimazole this morning at half the dose we were giving....which was tiny anyway. Dr. B said, that while it appears textbook reaction to methimazole, there was no positive muscle testing connecting the methimazole to the ears. Teddi did, however, detox too fast on one of the detox aids she has her on and that connected. Teddi seems to feel better this morning; we were so worried about her yesterday. Hoping the half dose of methimazole will help her with some of the symptoms of hyper T.

Not sure what we will do today...depends on her +4. It's warm, cloudy, but fairly nice. I'd love to get in 9 holes of golf but we'll see. Hugs to you all.

Re: 5/4 Gracie AMPS 311 +2 253 +4 208

Good to see your post. I was hoping all was well in Gracieland. Hope Teddi feels better soon. She is coming down, albiet slowly. Hope she continues and you get to play golf.

I held the f .5u dose
Great that you held the dose. I'm sure it was difficult with that AMPS. Hang in there. Sending good things happening vines. Enjoy your golf game and vacation.

Re: 5/4 Gracie AMPS 311 +2 253 +4 208

Ahhh... I haven't played golf in years and I used to LOVE it. :-D

The things kitties can get into. They're worse than our human babies!!  I hope Teddi starts to feel better, poor thing. :-|

Re: 5/4 Gracie AMPS 311 +2 253 +4 208

So little Gracie knows how to open the glass jar and get into Tobey's food - it's so funny just visualizing her doing this, but I know it's not really funny for the extra carbs! I had a Siamese who used to do things like Gracie with opening lids. I had to cat proof the apartment everfy time I left him alone. I'm glad Teddi is feeling better. Have a wonderful day.

Re: 5/4 Gracie AMPS 311 +2 253 +4 208

Woo hoo!! A held dose!!!

I love that Gracie is so clever!!! And yes, watching cats watch birds is very high on my enjoyable things to do list!! Especially watching their little tails go to work!

Fingers and paws crossed that all goes well for Teddi! And that you got in your 9 holes today!

   I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT! And look at her clearing that bounce, nice and slow, and I betcha she hits green tonight. Right Gracie? Don't make me look bad - hit green, OK?

I hope all goes well with Teddi. It sounds like the adjustments made were good ones. :-D Paws crossed that all is well with her.

Did you get to golf? I hope so...

Sous chef Gracie! Bring Tobey to the party. and hey - maybe Teddi would like to come, it might make her feel better? See you ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/4 Gracie AMPS 311 +2 253 +4 208

Hi Gracie, Please tell Tobey that I really appreciate his help with the bucket brigade. He is one strong dude! I'm going to grill up something special for him at the party tonight.
Rusty

Hi Marjorie. Great that you held the dose!!!!! Too funny about Gracie and the foods. Does she have a thumb? I hope that Teddi continues to feel better on a smaller dose of methimazole. That is tricky medication and it's hard to find the right dose. We're sending her some "just right dose" vines.

Have a fine evening. The bird-watching sounds like lots of fun for your crew. Rusty likes to watch birds, too, but he really likes to play with bugs (ants are the big fascination at present).

Re: 5/4 Gracie PMPS 289

After today's cycle, it's been very hard to continue sitting on our hands. She came down nicely to 208 and we thought she was breaking her bounce but then she shot back up to 298 in two hours at +6. We discussed taking her dose back up tonight but decided against it....and then her PMPS convinced us that was probably a good decision. Not that it is that much lower than her +6 but because it is lower at all...I wonder if she went up higher and now is coming down. So...still holding the f .5u. We will see how she does this cycle but if she does not have a nice, normal cycle tonight, we will take her back up tomorrow morning. Neither of us can think of any time that it has taken her more than three bounce cycles to clear.

Devon: we're making slow progress with Teddi; hoping beyond hope that she does not throw up tonight since we put her back on the methimazole this morning.

Barbara: yes, still holding!!! Still difficult  I believe they call this "character building"??

Patty: well, we didn't get to play today...we thought she was breaking her bounce so hung around until +6 and by then it was too late to even get 9 holes in. We've been golf addicts but since Gracie's FD, it's not been in the cards much. I have videos of Gracie getting into food....I should have known.

Ann (Maggie): little thieves aren't they! Mike and I wondered if Gracie would make it through kittenhood...we had never had a kitten that got into so much AND chewed electrical cords. Everything around here had bite marks in it: books, lamp shades, magazines, and we, like you, cat proofed.

Christie: Very clever indeed. Thanks for your wishes for Teddi.

Michelle: well, she had other plans today but so late that we didn't get the golf in but that's ok. We had a nice late lunch out. So glad about your confidence in me

Ella: you all are so supportive at this time with me just having my finger on the trigger of that syringe  I really would have increased her by now were it not for you all helping me. I think Gracie DOES have thumbs but hides them! Thanks for your wishes for Teddi. So worried about our girl. I hate giving her the methimazole but there aren't alot of options for a 16 year old kitty with kidney issues.

Everyone have a nice evening. I think we are going to sit outside and enjoy the weather for a bit. Paws crossed Gracie will get with it tonight. I've been through ten pairs of industrial strength patience pants, Jill!

Re: 5/4 Gracie PMPS 289

aw, it's hard having sick kitters. i hope Teddi has no barf plans for this evening and this is the right dose of the Meth. .. and Gracie clears her bounce before you up her dose.

did you threaten her with an increase? maybe she didn't read that condo and you should do it again!

Re: 5/4 Gracie PMPS 289

I think Julie's got it. You know what happens when kitties read about dose increases.

Re: 5/4 Gracie PMPS 289

Hoping Gracie is staying low tonight (guess I should say this morning--yawn) and I'm thinking about your poor little Teddi. It is so very hard with an older kitty. I know that had to be hard to put her back on the stuff that she reacted to. We went through Hyper T treatment with our 17 year old kitty a few years back, and he made it another 2 years! Paws and fingers crossed for her...

Gonna test TL and then otb. Taking the day off from my painting jobs tomorrow to do some shopping, so I should be able to check condos in the a.m. for a change. I miss out on so much when I don't get to read condos until now. :YMSIGH:
