Evening....
Shadow is doing good yesterday and today... at least when I test... low numbers....but since this isn't Shadow's norm.... it makes me a little ancy.....
especially since she's still acting odd.

and i'm also ancy because there is a fire in our vicinity .... Again... :o

It's about 45 miles out.... and much has burned in between although there is plenty of fuel out there and plenty of high winds....and I never say never. . . .
It's called the Thompson Ridge fire just north of Jemez Springs and it started 3 hours ago and it's taking off.
after two major evacuations and major fires here....
I'm always on hyper alert watching the horizon around us....
and I'm probably about to organize our tubs just because the person who owns a huge parcel behind us has many dead trees on it.... needs some clean up....

Many prayers and tears for Jane and Jack as they send Karre over the rainbow bridge....
and also for Susie and Remy as she said so long yesterday....

Oh No,you be careful if they say go, GO I tried to save my house once, tried to wait it out but they just had to leave. We were lucky just the barn. So do't be a hero!

Dearest Rhiannon.... Many many prayers for your safety, and for the safety of the fire fighters, and for the fires to soon be under control.

Scritches for Shadow. cat_pet_icon

I live near a nuclear power plant so I have multiple evacuation plans in place just in case. I have my 5 minute plan, grab and go. I have my 15 minute plan grab and go stuff, bags to grab with food etc. And then I have my 1 hour grab and go plan.

In the winter, I keep more emergency supplies in my car in case the evacuation sirens start sounding off. Less packing to do.

I'd rather have a few extra supplies squirreled away in my car and not need to rush around so much at the last minute.

Love that BG! FD beans definitely look every gift horse in the mouth, don't we? ;-) Oh jeesh on the fire. That is scary. I know what you mean about scanning the horizon. Sending calm wind vines.

Come on Shadow, time to start acting "normal" so that your mama bean doesn't worry about you. She worries about you for many other reasons! Be a good girl and stick with those lovely numbers, but no more acting odd. Sending fire-be-gone vines for your area. Stay safe and sleep well.

45 miles is a pretty far piece away....

our big fire in 2000 that burned down 460 homes... jumped a canyon and flames traveled a mile across....that's when they lost control on that one....

so I never say never...
but the probability of this one making it near us is slim.
It's just a stark hard reminder of how quickly they pop up.

the plan is all animals and us first (of course)... then we still have tubs packed of the most important stuff - pictures and papers are second... keepsakes third...
the rest can be bought again...

I feel like we have tons of time compared to watching those tornados on tv....

Nice numbers Shadow!

Glad you are not in danger Rhiannon - What the heck is happening with our weather this season ohmygod_smile

Doing a raindance and hoping the winds stay calm. Safety vines for those fighting the flames and anyone who may be in it's path. Nice geeny, there Shadow!

I have all picture in my dad's old marine core trunk, and files in place, cats carriers always out they sleep in them. My car is packed with everything in case of emergency all year long.I'm a old back packer and lived in some of the worse places to live Army depots, Hanford which is Nuclear plant and fire ranges. My friends says there sticking with me during any kind of problem lol boy scout training also as a kid so bring it on lol
