Hello! Moses and I are doing well  Ever since my return from College Station, he's been a happy boy. Very compliant and understanding. Not the bossy boy I know ;-)

Anyways, he's been looking great. Unfortunaltely I had the wrong alarm set yesterday and his AMPS was one hour late  We've been making up for it. Yesterday, I saw him scratching under my dresser for a while. Then I saw the tail of his fav pink mouser, that I thought we lost! He was so happy, he was like this with it the next hour...

:dizcat

*Question = It seems I'm rather unprepared. The pharmacy and the pet store are closed today and I was hoping to pick up more food and syringes. I have 1 more syringe and enough food for 1 more meal. He'll need dinner and breakfast... What's the best thing to do?

I'm thinking I might save some current leftovers and save them for breffis. And shoot tonight with the last syringe. Meaning I'd have to skip injection tomorrow morning  My mom said I can reuse the syringe, although I don't think it's wise. What do you think?

Re: 5/31 Moses AMPS 267 +9~197 supply question

Sorry - I'm a newbie so can't answer your question...but I have one. How did you get the question mark to appear? I need to ask a question too.
Thanks,
Debie & Jezebel

Re: 5/31 Moses AMPS 267 +9~197 supply question

Hello Jezebel! I can answer your question.. maybe...

Click on the button to "post reply", this will take you to the screen where you can type and submit your reply. Above the Subject line, you'll see all kinds of icons, the question mark is in there. Select it and type your reply like normal.

Note: Most times, you'll have to go back and edit the icon on your very first post. That'll be the active one seen on the list page of condos (FDMB Lantus/Levemir Homepage). You'll have to go into your current condo and go the the very top (your first post). And click edit. There you can change your icon. Such as, when I get a response and no longer have my question, so I'll go back to post #1 and click "none".

Hope that makes sense!

Re: 5/31 Moses AMPS 267 +9~197 supply question

I love reading that Moses is playing like crazy.

Food: around here, most convenience stores have some overpriced Friskies. You could get a can or two of that to get you through morning.

Syringes are harder, unless there is a pharmacy open somewhere (I don't know if you need a prescription where you live, if so then I guess you can't easily go to a different pharmacy). I did reuse syringes when I first started out, because my vet said it was ok, but I don't recommend it unless you're really stuck. Once they're used, they're not sterile anymore.

Re: 5/31 Moses AMPS 267 +9~197 supply question

Walgreens and other convenience stores and some supermarkets are open. You could check with a pharmacist and see if they'd dispense one syringe -- especially if it's from where you purchased them with an Rx.

You could re-use the syringe. Wipe it with alcohol prior to use. The big problem is that the needles very quickly degrades and it's no longer sharp.

Re: 5/31 Moses AMPS 267 +9~197 supply question

i would not re-use the syringe. this list http://www.isletsofhope.com/diabetes/st ... -laws.html says you may not require a rx in tx - but it's not an updated list (PA isn't updated), so call around and ask. i used to get bd syringes from target's pharmacy, but have no idea if they have a pharmacist on duty on a holiday. your best bet may be a 24-hr pharma.

or put out a question on health for DFW peeps. there are quite a few of them around, maybe someone's close by who can give you a couple to tide you over.

Okay. Walgreens had some syringes, Moses has his insulin now.... @-)

He got his PMPS 30 minutes late but it's way better than none at all. Whew, what a day.
