Goooood Morning LL,

Well someone barfed this morning, so not like him but when I looked closer it had grass in it. WTH? Then I realized Leo must have jumped up on the countertop where I had put the cat grass I was growing last night after I watered it. What a little stinker! You know for someone with neuropathy he can really move, when he wants to.......makes me think he's faking the whole neuropathy thing.... :lol: just kidding. Other than that he was being his usual affectionate self, purring thru his test and shot. He comes running now when he sees the insulin vial and needle, even though he doesn't like getting his needle he still knows he's getting fed.

Hi Tracy!!! Amazing how are medically challenged kitties can do things we never thought possible when there's food (or grass) involved! Champ never jumped on counters until he noticed that's where I put the container of his freeze-dried salmon. Now I'm constantly botting him off!! :-D

Now let's see Leo's numbers get down to a nicer color!! Have a great day!! :-D

Good morning Tracy & Leo! Is it the whole selective jumping like selective hearing? They can do something if they want it bad enough. Your cat grass was just way too much temptation! Yuck on the barf! Hopefully the grass was worth it to Leo. :smile:

Willy is the same way... sometimes I wonder how he manages to get up on the counters so much (where he doesn't belong) but then I remember, I am happy that he still can considering back in Dec he couldn't walk on tile. Then I poke him til he jumps down :lol: :lol:

So i thought i would take my little stinker to the park, got the harness on him, he gets pretty excited when i strap his harness on. Took him to the new park i found the other night, he had fun there on Sunday, walking around sniffing everywhere. So i take him there, and just sits there sniffing, then all of a sudden he goes down onto his belly and starts shaking really bad.....OMG i can't tell you how badly i was freaking out, i scooped him up, jumped into my truck and drove home in like 2 seconds flat, i'm thinking OMG he's gone hypo on me. We get in the door to my apt, and he immediately starts purring and flops himself on the ground, wanting belly rubs, happier than a pig in SH*T......ARGGGHHHH and his BG was 272! I was about ready to kill him i was so scared.....he obviously didn't want to go to the park. Geez, some peoples cats :evil:
And now i am so sweaty and shaking myself because i was so scared, and he's as happy as can be that he's back home.

Sounds like Leo got nervous being someplace new....Bandit acts that way when he goes to the vet. You don't have to worry about hypos if his +4 and +6 are in the 300s...no way would he drop that fast late into the cycle like that.

Tracy, I'm so sorry that was such a bad experience for Leo today, and you as well.. I can only imagine how frightened you must have been. I'm glad that he's doing well now that he's home.

Tracy!!! I think I probably would have peed my pants!!! What a little faker! I thought you were going to say he had a seizure, but if he recovered that quickly and had no lethargy or anything out of the usual, it certainly wasn't a seizure. The little stinker!!! I'm so glad he was okay, though. Whew!!!

Awww Tracy, I'm sorry you were so scared, but (teehee), Leo really didn't want to be there. Sorry, but he made me snicker.
Checkers gets scared outside, if leaf blows near him. I used to take him out on harness, but he just stands and eats grass now. I'm so paranoid about the wlld critters that come here, I'm afraid Checks will pick up some nasty disease.

No kidding what a little FAKER!!! That's exactly what he was doing, he's been roaming around purring and looking for hugs ever since we got home.....he's fine. I can say now that it's funny, but it wasn't funny at the time.

My cat has waaaaay too much personality.
 
What a frightening experience for you.

Leo, next time just tell your bean that you don't like the new place and wanna go home. No sudden shakin' buddy.

Ok Leo, get back on the the DOWN elevator to a yellow or blue floor. And don't get stuck btwn floors.

Hi Tracy!! I read your post in Champ's condo about the pen. Let me know how it works out cuz I know Julie was having all sorts of problems. Also, the only reason you aren't supposed to put it in the frig is if you're using it on you with the needles that attach to the pen. Since you're using your own syringes, you can put it in the frig. If you choose to leave it out, you will definitely have to throw it out in 28 days. If you put it in the frig, you can probably use the whole pen. Since one pen is 300 units versus a vial which is 1,000 units, you'll use it up faster so it won't really have time to go bad.

I don't want to scare you but are you sure this wasn't a seizure? Was Leo responsive to you when you picked him up? With a seizure, it looks almost like a cat is dreaming but all the limbs are twitching but unlike sleep, if you touch the cat, he doesn't startle awake. Instead, he's not responsive. Usually, within a minute or two of it ending, your cat seems fine. There are clips on YouTube of seizures if you need a comparison.
 
patty said what i was going to mention about the pen - the "don't refrigerate" has to do with using the pen needles - it doesn't apply to us who use needles. it's talked about in the sticky about lantus & levemir at the top of the forum.

scary on the park incident!
