Hi all,
Tessie's numbers continue to be good--yellows and blues. However, a couple days ago, I noticed a growth of some kind on her stomach. It is about a 2 inch area, and is not noticeable to the eye, but I can feel it. It is hard, there is one beebee sized round nodule, and then there are three long things like hard veins or maybe fibrous tissue? It is close to one of her nipples. Anyway, they have come out of nowhere, and I will call the vet tomorrow to get her looked at. Does this kind of growth sound familiar to anyone? She doesn't seem to mind my pushing on the area, so I don't think it hurts. None of it moves either. I pray it's nothing serious. :YMSIGH:

Enjoy the holiday today!

Re: 5/30 Tessie Lou AMPS 221 - New Development

morning - i have had no experience with growths as you described, and hope others may have ha some experience. I too would get her to a vet. I wish you luck and hope that it is nothing serious. Try not too worry...

Nice numbers for Tessie Lou - keep them coming. It is nice to see. :-D

I hope you guys have a great day, enjoy the holiday.

Sandy: also no experience but I agree with Michelle. I'd get Tessie Lou in as soon as you can. Healing vines coming her way that it is nothing to be concerned about.

Re: 5/30 Tessie Lou AMPS 221 - New Development

Thanks Michelle, I'll try not to worry, but you know how it is. Best to get it checked out asap. She is sitting on the loveseat on the porch with me, and I'm giving her a belly massage, and she's just purring up a storm. Between her good numbers and her happy behavior, It's hard to believe it could be anything bad. :?

Thanks, Marjorie, hopefully they'll be able to see her first thing tomorrow, so I don't have to wonder about it.

Anyway, hope you both have a great day, too. So nice to have a three-day weekend, isn't it?

Re: 5/30 Tessie Lou AMPS 221 - New Development

Getting it checked out is the wisest course. If it's around a nipple, it may be something related to a milk gland but that's purely supposition.

people do grow lumps that are unimportant - hopefully Tessie Lou's is something like that. i have a couple of weirdo things myself. you'll feel better after the vet looks at them.

nice to see you back today - we've missed you!

Re: 5/30 Tessie Lou AMPS 221 - New Development

I am glad that you are getting that checked out asap. I hope that it is something quite innocent. Perhaps a benign fatty lipoma. I will be sending good thoughts your way.

Well, I was able to get Tessie in to be looked at this afternoon. She has developed a weird behavior after eating now that started on Sat. I think. After eating, she turns her head and chews hard on her left side, like she's trying to get something out of her teeth, but I can't see anything. It hasn't affected her appetitie, but again, I'm glad I can have it checked out by vet.

Did I read somemwhere that diabetic cats are prone to mouth sores? Maybe I dreamed it. I just can't believe it--these two things came out of nowhere, and her BG has been so great (for her).

Thanks Linda, Julie, and Sienne. I hope, too, that it's something benign. I would type more, but Tessie Lou is laying on my keyboard purring like mad, and it's quite difficult!

Wish us luck, and I'll report back after we get home from the vet.

Good luck with Tessie's appointment! Hopefully it is nothing. Sending healing vines your way to help.

Pretty numbers for Tessie today! :-D

Good morning ...I'm glad that tessie lou is posting such nice numbers .. sorry to hear about the bump on her belly .. My GA bandit had a bump under her skin that felt hard to me so we took her to the vet .. it was close to her nipple and they did a biopsy of it .. it was cancer and they were able to remove it all .. This was several years ago now (probably close to 8 years ago) so I don't remember the name ..

Good luck at the vet! My eldest civvie chews like that too - on one can ever find anything wrong with her, just seems to be something she has developed as she gets older. I hope all is well with Tessie Lou and the lump is nothing serious. Good luck - I look forward to hearing your update.

One has to love it when they sit on your lap when you are on the 'puter. mine do that too - not helping my already instilled ability type a series of typos....

Tessie Lou? You gots to go to the vetty Place? Don't worry - it will be OK. Me and the KTSS can come and visit you when you get home. We are really good at getting rid of the vetty smell.... It will be OK, so don't be scared. See you ~~ Mannie

Thanks for the vines, Melissa. We'll know soon.
Devon, that is good to know. If it is cancer, it is really close to the surface, so I'm hoping they could remove it easily. But, I'm getting ahead of myself I guess. nailbite_smile

Michelle, yes, it may be like your kitty. We'll keep our fingers crossed that it's just a new "quirk" she's developed. nailbite_smile

Mannie, yes please! I will need it! At least T.J. doesn't mind it--he is a good brother and tries to help lick it off me...See you soon! Tessie Lou
