Good Morning, Everyone,

Can't seem to avoid those fur shots these days--another one (an ouchie, too). Poor Rusty, and just when he was getting over the last one.
Rusty had a good night, good test, bad shot, good breakfast (FF T&G and Wellness Turkey), delicious lung treat, schmooze (he forgives me for the ouchie shot) and now is chillaxin', getting ready for Gobble's OTJ party. He's a bit apprehensive about being the NCIC (New Chef in Charge), but is willing to step into the role with the help of all his pals on the Kitchen Krew.

Today is a "rest" day for me. Yesterday's hike up the steep, muddy Mt. Baker was a good preparation for tomorrow's hike up the much longer and steeper, rocky trail to the summit of Ampersand Mt. And it's supposed to be close to 90 degrees tomorrow. I'll have to take Gatoraide!

I hope at least some of the shot got in. He has been doing well, lately! But he always comes back around quickly. I think you deserve a rest day! 90º and mountain climbing tomorrow? Definitely gatorade!

Rusty! You can do it! You will be a great NCIC! I has the kitchen krew all in the bus and we are on our way to get all the prep work done, and the n a little chillaxin on your porches! My Shakeer Lemon Pies w/ Catmint Crust are all done and smell delish! -- Tess

I hope some of the insulin got in. That +5.5 doesn't look too bad. I hope you get some good rest today for your climb tomorrow.

Hi again,
It was a "rest" day (from exercise), but not too restful, since I had lots of stuff to do. I barely got on the board. It was hot and humid and Rusty felt it. But he enjoyed some outdoor time in the late afternoon, when it began to cool down and there was a nice breeze. He enjoyed simply lying on the brick walk in the shade of the trees. It was indeed a fur shot this morning: just look at that PMPS!

Off to visit condos now. I have all my things ready for tomorrow. We're starting the climb of Ampersand at 8 A.M. so as to beat the worst heat of the day (they are still predicting temperatures near 90 for tomorrow).

Not a bad day at all for Rusty, considering a fur shot this morning. Blue during the day, and I suspect that yellow tonight will be short-lived. Right Rusty?

I love the photo - what a pretty area. Tomorrow's sounds like a good one too!

Amazing that you are so hot today, and were so cold a few days ago. I will hope for good weather for your hike tomorrow. Bring lots of water!

Rusty - NCIC! The title is well deserved my furry friend. Mannie is so very proud tonight - your first OTJ party as head chef, so well done too! I know Mannie is very pleased with his special dish: PNW salmon! Perfect choice Rusty, and he is very honored. You enjoy the party. I can so see Stu and Mannie smiling down on the new LL Head Chef.

Thanks for visiting, everyone, and for the encouraging words about the LL NCIC! Rusty is still at the party, having a great time, I'm sure. He managed to come down from the fur shot this morning.

Off early tomorrow and probably won't post a condo until sometime in the afternoon.

Hi Ella. Rusty made a nice slide down from the yellow tonight. Hope his party plans have him surfing the blue or even the green tonight.
