Happy Memorial Day all :-D

I'm at TBP today :? So far it has not been a good day :? I guess I got the bus schedule mixed up and ended up waiting well over an hour for the first bus @-) Most busses have one schedule for the weekend/holiday but I guess this one has separate ones :-| Then it turned out the bus wasn't even going to the last stop, which happens to be a block from where I work (the regular weekday driver drops me off right in front of the door :-D ). It went to the second to last stop of the route and then started a completely different route  I quickly got off at the first stop and walked back the few blocks to work. Ended up getting to work 2 hours after I left the house @-) Then I found a last minute requst from a co-worker to do :? While I was doing that, I walked past a project and realized that I had completely forgotten that those also had to be done @-) Didn't get started on my own work until just after 9am and was rushing around to get most of that done. Still have to do the transfer paperwork for that one project and do all the afternoon time sensitive stuff . Oy @-) @-)

Civies are still in one piece. I left the windows halfway opened last night with the adjustable screen in place. Neither of them fell out, especially Leroy since he's such a troublemaker. Hopefully they'll still be ok when I get home later nailbite_smile I guess I worry too much.

that sounds like a very rough way to start a holiday! wow!

i am stuck in Lethargy Land and need to get up and get moving before it's lunchtime. i'm looking around on here and semi-watching HGTV, which can kill an unbelievable amount of time! we've got that cold damp feeling here today and it will likely rain before long. it's already wet outside.

Sunny here and probably very warm outside now. I haven't gone outside TBP since I got in. Still feeling stressed from this morning @-)

Anything good on HGTV today? I like to watch the house buying shows, even though I have my own place now. It's neat to see what kind of properties are out there and how prices vary a lot depending where you live.

i like most of the shows on HGTV - i have no decorating talent of my own, that's for sure, but i enjoy seeing other people's houses. there was a home-buying show on earlier (now that i've spent 2 hours writing this one post!) that was looking for a house in Hawaii. i love seeing the exotic places.

This is a cute video of a toddler and a sea otter "playing" with each other at a zoo/aquarium: http://video.yahoo.com/editorspicks...4306389%2Fplaying-with-an-otter-25345251.html :-D

Civies are running around like nuts right now  I have to rotate the rug this weekend. I thought the 4 foot side of the rug would extend enough beyond the tree to cushion the thumping noise but it isn't. Leroy lands just past the rug  Need the long 6 foot side of the rug to lie between the wall and sofa. Window screens are still in place :thumbup The adjustable screen frame can be sort of seen from the outside. Hoping management won't say anything about it nailbite_smile

I have to chuckle, as I'm watching House Hunters: Beachfront Homes as I type!!   I'm soooo addicted right now! Though, I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed that the channel does seem to be a lot more about home buying and a lot less about home decorating these days. While Property Virgins and Holmes Inspection were very useful, now I need to decorate!!  Though, I think my vision is starting to come together... found some more great steals today. $34 console/sofa table, some down filled throw pillows for under $10 each and a lamp for the dining room. Nevermind that I didn't NEED a lamp for the dining room... going to repurpose the old dining room lamp into the living room.

Though, excited as I am about the new place, this show I'm watching has me wishing I was independently wealthy so I too could have a beach home in Belize where I lived all the time.

I've been in my place for almost a year now and I still haven't decorated. My walls are empty, I can't have any plants (live or fake) or knickacks because of Leroy @-) I was thinking of putting a hanging wall scroll in between my living room windows. I haven't found one that I like or can afford yet. I saw some removable wall sticker things at Kohl's and Bed Bath and Beyond once. That might be a decorating pet-safe option.

Holmes on Homes is the scariest show ever @-) I watched it during the time when I was having difficulty finding someone to install a hardwood floor for me (needed a special underlayment thing installed and had a hard time finding someone who knew what it was and install it). After watching that show, I was paranoid about getting ripped off or ended up having a lousy job done on the floors @-) In the end, the floors came out really well despite all the scheduling issues I had with the company (thread is probably still on the Yuku board somewhere).
