we have been increasing comet’s dose with no changes to his bg and he is bloated and irritated but not constipated so the vet is concerned he may have pancreatitis. Does anyone have experience with this? He is eating and drinking like normal. Also I just noticed that the test strips I just got have a different code than my old ones and now I think all my tests from 5/15 are invalid. But I used the correct code today and it is still very high

Did vet test for ptitis?. It's very common with diabetics. Important to keep them eating. Pain medication is paramount. Anti nausea meds if needed as well as appy stimulant if needed. Subq fluids help flush out the systems. Getting the glucose down is very important. There are 3 days with no tests on your spreadsheet. Are you home testing? If not please start immediately. Human glucose meter is just fine. You can treat at home although it can be rough for awhile.

Usually with pancreatitis there’s nausea, pain, and inappetence. I
I would consider an ultrasound. This sounds like something else is going on.

This is the Primer on Pancreatitis that Marje/Gracie put together. It has a great deal of very useful information.

Your vet can run a diagnostic test for pancreatitis -- either a Snap or Spec fPL. If it's pancreatitis, pain meds are very important. You should ask the vet to run the test, though.

We have a vet appointment on Monday to run some tests and hopefully get a definitive answer. He has a smallish lump in his abdomen that is suspected lymphoma so this may be related but unfortunately an ultrasound is too expensive. @Olive & Paula yes we home test I was out of town and because it was just for a weekend I let my sitter make the call if she wanted to check or not. He’s a cat with a routine so it’s easy to tell when his numbers are off or he feels unwell.

Update: they pancreatitis test was too expensive so we did a blood panel and his ALT levels are extremely elevated. The vet said without further testing its hard to tell if this is due to an infection or cancer or something else. We went ahead and gave him anti nausea meds and an appetite stimulant and will see how it goes.
