A curve test was done on Sunday 5/28, vet wanted it done using the AT meter as the software they use is set up for that specific meter, he never came out of the 500's, a change in dry food was done on saturday ( wet food has stayed the same with switching between the 4 low carbs cheap brands), not a huge change but enough to cause the high numbers BUT since starting on Lantus on 5/20, every day after 5/20 his numbers have been increasing. I took away his bowl of dry food yesterday, looking at 2 other brands since he stopped eating the YA Zero, just waiting for nutritional analysis from the manufacturers to confirm they are high protein under 10% carbs with under 300mg Phosphorus
This morning I sent the link to his SS to the vet as was requested, she recommended increasing his dose to 2 units twice a day but I am not comfortable increasing it a whole unit as nobody is home to monitor him if its too much and he crashes. I would prefer to increase by half a unit, just for a few days until his friday pm dose when i can give him the 2 units as I am home all weekend to monitor him and catch him if he does crash.
What do you all think?
