high numbers yesterday:
AMPS 334.8
+2 367.2
+6 370.8
PMPS 406.8
+3 394.2

big fat nasty red this morning. sigh. Rupert seems happy though. clear eyes, eating well. moving well. Pouring with rain today. Sure wish spring would stick around for more than a nanosecond?!!

Hubby leaving this afternoon to head to CA to pick up horse. Decided to get there sooner rather than later , so mad panic here getting things ready for trip! Hope everyone is well. back later to check in.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475 sigh.

Sigh...patience pants is difficult to wear. I can understand how that nasty red is eating your heart Pip. But look at Rupert, the 4Ps there, no ketone, he is eating...Dont worry.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475 sigh.

Pip: May your Rupert and my Pumbaa both settle down and stop giving us red, black and pink numbers!

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475 sigh.

It looks like you have been on many doses lately for Rupert but Lantus need consistancy, so maybe you need to stick to one dose for a time & let the dose settle in...That could be why there are so many ups & downs with the bg..Of course, FD is unpredictable as we know, but just go slow, finding the right dose is difficult for all of us..
Hope Rupert comes down for you today--You are doing a good job, see where 1.75 takes him..You never know when you will find the breakthrough dose-- Hugs & Lubs from us!

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475 sigh.

Oh gees Pip, I certainly know how frustrating this is for you. Every time we get a great green day, we think we're making some headway, then they go and do this for a few days.
i hope someone can shed some light on this for you.
Come on down Rupert. Stop stressing your mama.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

Pip, it is hard to see those reds and pinks. I agree with Roni that you need to keep the dose consistent. One thing that occurs to me is that you should increase by 0.25u, rather than skinny or fat. You might ask a wise one check out Rupert's spreadsheet. Safe voyage for DH and Rojo. Let us know how the trip is going.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

hm. slightly confused. he was on the last dose for 14 cycles. is that changing things around a lot?... and it was suggested that I just fatten it up a bit because he did give a few lower numbers there. so you think I should go back to full 2?? frankly the difference between a s1.75 and a standard 1.75 really seems hard to tell. but 2 seemed to be too much for him before, guess things change. maybe his body is becoming dependent on the 'outside' insulin and giving up trying. sigh.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

He is quite the bouncer, that makes it extra hard on the dosing and feeding. I wish I could tap him with a magic wand and settle him down. I made a suggestion based on my limited experience. Ultimately, you have to decide. You are doing him a world of good with your excellent care. Don't just look at the numbers but look at how he's feeling and looking. It's a huge improvement from when you first came to LL. You're doing a great job in a difficult situation.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

I agree with you. I don't think you've been dose hopping. Rupert may be bouncing off of the yellows. Let's see how he looks after another cycle.

FWIW, your AMPS and +1.5 are the same number. It's not a pretty number but he's really not going the wrong way (at least not yet). Perhaps, if you tell Rupert if he doesn't get it together, he's going to see a dosecrease, he may decide to spend some time in colors that are far more becoming.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

  listen up Rupert. did you hear that? dosecrease threatened!!!!!!!

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

Uh oh Rupert! You'd better get your act together or more juice for you. Hope he settles down for you soon!

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487. wrong way.

 She said it! The bean said the D word! Heads up Rupie!!! The bouncing is so frustrating, especially when it isn't from really low numbers, Hang in there? :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Where in CA is your DH going? How many day of driving? Safe travels!

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487,+7 192 threats work?!

ok. so maybe if I threaten dosecrease EVERY DAY??? look at that blue?! and i have no idea when he started to come down (darn it) because I was running around getting stuff sorted and didn't get a chance to test him till after 1pm. doh!! not complaining. just wish I could make sense of it all.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487,+7 192

I wouldn't necessarily worry about when the numbers started to come down. Sir Rupert aims to confuse and befuddle and is very successful in his endeavor. Please let him know that he looks much better in blue.

Re: 5/3 Rupert AMPS 475,+1.5 487,+7 192 PMPS 149

so PMPS of 149... Just when I think I can figure out his patterns.... sigh! NOT complaining. happy with that. will be monitoring closely this evening. Have cancelled my 'away' riding lesson and will hang out at home this evening. Hubby on the road to California AS I type!

Rupie happy, although quite thirsty this evening. Unusual for him, specially with a lower number? again. he's my special mystery boy! as Sienne put it:
Sir Rupert aims to confuse and befuddle and is very successful in his endeavor.

Re: 5/3 Rupert PMPS 149, +2 336 that was short lived

+2 and wicked bounce in progress yet again. sigh. Now I"m wondering if he's shifted his nadir to +7???? hm... will get a at about +5 and where things are going. looks like I get some sleep tonight at least.

so a brief moment of hope today followed by the usual rocketing bounce. I'm beginning to lose hope this will ever get any better. just makes no sense anymore.
Perhaps another dosecrease threat will do the trick again. judging by whatever sort of pattern I can squeeze out of his SS, it looks like he's bouncing off the blue from today so we are in for two more days of 400+ numbers before we get three hours of almost okay numbers... round and round we go. Hoping my prediction proves wrong.. since Rupie likes to do the opposite of anything I try to predict.

off to bed, at least I can get some sleep tonight

We can relate to you Pip!
Seeing those high numbers is discouraging but hang in there:) There was a point when I though Ella would never stop bouncing off the blues but eventually her liver said "hey these numbers are ok!" Rupert you look much better in blue!!! C'mon down buddy. :YMHUG:

Pip, I totally feel for you and understand. I'm a logical person, and every time I seem to see a pattern in Pumbaa's numbers, he changes the pattern and throws me for a loop. He doesn't even have a regular nadir, as of yet, and I can't test him every hour, 24 hours of the day. It does get frustrating, doesn't it?
