My son and his family are moving this Friday. They have about a 13 hr drive from NC to NH with 2 indoor only cats (and 2 young children, one of them on a ventilator). I can’t imagine the stress of that but anyway, regarding the cats… does anyone know how to travel that far with cats? We use Feliway and Gabapentin when traveling with Max but have never been more than a 2 hour trip to the beach. I’ve suggested that to them but they can’t get any Gabapentin. I’m afraid to give them some of Max’s because those cats are small cats. And what about litter box? I think all they have is a carrier for the two cats. Where do you put a litter box? Any ideas appreciated.

Update: They had someone else to help answer their questions. Thanks.

Nice start for Max. I hope you get a blue/green surf today. Sending safe travel prayers for your son and his family. Make sure to remind them to have the cats either in the carrier or on a leash before the car doors are opened so they don't escape.

Max had a good day and the rest of the day was great. Our air conditioner got fixed and wasn’t anything major. Kids are all set to move. Now if Max will just surf tonight like he did today.:cat:

We did three days in a row (each way) to Fort Collins (CSU) in a car. Then I did a pretty long day with Neko with a car to airport, flight, aiport train, another longer car ride. Rescue Remedy for pets, and Feliway sprayed in the carrier. For the flight, I also got a snug fitting harness (Kitty Holster) that acted somewhat like a Thundershirt. Might be too late to get a Kitty Holster, but Thundershirts are available in a lot of pet stores. They can also get tags made (eg. Petsmart) to go on the harness with name and phone number, just in case kitty gets out. Litter box was available when we took breaks.

Glad your son got answers.

Max is really working this dose!
