Scout was able to come home last night, I’m so happy to have him back but also kinda scared because I don’t want to make an mistake. Does anyone oh there relate??
So he was sent home on Marbofloxacin
(he had a fever in the hospital, possibly IV phlebitis or pancreatitis. )
Also has Cyproheptadine, Cerenia, and Bupe. The Dr. wants him fed 2x per day, 12 hrs. apart, and to have a BG draw before feeding and 6-7 hours after. Temp has to be taken 2x a day.
He’s on Purina Pro DM dry as it was the only thing they could get him to eat after they removed the feeding tube in his nose.
I’m giving him a very small amount if Royal Canin wet selected protein, with a couple DM kibbles on top at midday because he’s never been able to eat just 2 meals a day...and I want to wean him off the dry.
He’ s exhausted and is sleeping fitfully, it is probably to be expected after 5 days & 4 nights at the hospital. But at least he’s eating, eliminating normally
