Looks like Julie was right about last night being the bounce clearing cycle. I thought I caught the low point in that cycle at +6 but with this mornings PS I'm not sure what happened between +6 and this morning. As has become his routine, he had treats at 3am (Orijen freeze dried treats) and a mini-breakfast (a few tsp of Tiki chicken) at 5am.

So did Leda wake you up again for those middle of the night snacks? I started feeding Neko her regular mini meals out of the autofeeder when I was home, so she got the idea that it was a wonderful food dispensing machine.

I wonder where Leda will go today - that's a very nice start.

According to Leda the autofeeder is great for grazing during the day, but early morning snacks require a human to serve them . The Orijen snacks he gets so that I can feed him without getting out of bed, but the 5am snack is a big production, with lots of meowing until I get up and fill the bowl. To make matters worse, I apparently filled the wrong sections of the autofeeder, so Leda was right that his bowl was empty at 5am (though to be honest, he didn't check-he just meowed until I got up).

Wendy, what kind of dishes do you put in your autofeeder? I have little Japanese sauce dishes that Leda eats out of normally, but they are a bit too wide for the autofeeder cups. Dishes would probably make him like it more, make it easier to clean, and mean that I could bring him a meal out of it once in a while if he won't come look for it.

Thanks!

I have some little sauce dishes too. I took the tray part of the autofeeder into the store, so I could try different dishes out. Some people have found little glass bowls that fit. The other option we have at home are some small pottery dishes. We got a set made for holding spices or ingredients when we are prepping for cooking. Might be able to find those type of bowls at a cooking store.

What a fabulous idea! I'll see what I can find around here--my partner is a ceramics enthusiast, so if I get him measurements he'll probably enjoy finding interesting dishes for his cat-kid.

Thanks Wendy!

I like these numbers! He's asleep on the bed :cat:. I'll be out of the house starting from +5 for a few hours. I think he'll be fine if I feed him before I leave, and make sure there is food out. The last cycle he had like this he stayed up in blues and upper greens until the nighttime.
