Re: 5/29/11 Gus AMPS HI/R.25/+3=587

Awww Bev, I'm sorry the numbers right now aren't coinciding with how Gus is feeling.. I'm sure glad that he is feeling better. That is very much a good thing after what you guys went through yesterday..
Feeling better vines and happy thoughts for your little man. I hope you have a good day. :-D

I'm sure it's going to take a day or two for the antibiotics to start to have an effect on his BGs. Hang in there!!! Try to have a good Sunday, Bev!! :-D

thinking about you both today and hoping gus is feeling better soon . . . good info from marjorie on the antibiotics in yesterday's condo. i didn't know any of that. is gus handling the med ok without it upsetting his gut?

Re: 5/29/11 Gus AMPS HI/R.25/+3=587

I do suspect once the ABs kick in, Gus' numbers will improve. I know this must be hard to see Gus back in these numbers. I would encourage you to not get complacent. Once the ABs kick in, his numbers could come down quickly.

Hi Bev-

I jsut caught up on yesterday's condo. I'm so sorry Gus ended up with an infection and you guys had to head to the ER! I hope the ABs start working their magic quickly...poor little guy, and poor you!!

Feel better, Gus!!

Amy

Thanks Sienne for the heads-up on the numbers. Julie, so far Gus' tummy is holding up well. The vet did mention that sometimes this AB affects the GI tract and to keep a watchful eye. He said he could switch Gus to another AB if he wasn't able to handle the Clindamycin but wanted to try him on it because he felt it was more effective. Gus, meanwhile, is improving at a fast rate. He hasn't poked at his mouth at all and seems more comfortable. Numbers seem to be changing as well. I re-read your comments on fortiflora, Julie and I'll speak to the vet about getting some. Better to have it on hand and not use it than to need it and not have it. If the clindamycin is so tough on the tummies, I should be prepared. Thanks for that info.

Hi Bev - it was nice to rad that Gus is feeling better, that his mouth doesn't seem to be bothering him as much. YAY!

sorry for the rotten numbers this morning. The evening cycle seems so much better. Go Gus! :-D :-D
