Morning! Moonie threw up little food last night before I went to bed, but no poo so far today or pee-
She did eat well last night, and was in the blue range.. Waiting till 9am to call vet & see if I should give
cerenia and I havent given her the baytril yet..Poor girl, this stuff is really heavy for these cats! Hard on
their systems!
I am a little concerned as she hasnt peed or pooped since last night--Will wait a bit & not panic.
Calling my drug store too re: strips!! Only have 5 left nailbite_smile-May have to buy a new meter to get the
strips that are in there :roll:
Hope I can speak to vet today--Not that Moonie is terrible, but just want to see when I can discontinue the baytril & if I should give the pepcid & possibly cerenia(only symptom is throwing up once on 2 different days).

DH went to show without me, DN & her boyfriend are working for us today--
First show I have ever missed in 26 years! But Moonie is more important!

Morning Roni. I hope all is well with Moonie - and that maybe you cans top some of the meds. Sounds like she is on the mend. Be well Moonie!

so sorry you had to miss the show. nice though that someone can work it for you. I hope that goes well.

Good luck with the trips too!

Hi Roni, sending more vines and prayers for Moonie. Hope you can just buy the strips at Pharmacy. Sorry about the show and know that DH and DN will handle for you. Let us know what the Vet says. Hugs and love to you and Moonie.

Dont worry Ronni, I am sure Moonie will be fine. She is having an appy & eating; that is a good sign. Let your vet tell you when to stop the Baytril. Baytril is a very common ab prescribbed to cats in Hongkong too.

Spoke to main vet at the practice there--Says he thinks Moonie could have had feline vestibular syndrome, or feline vertigo, that can occur in older cats--He said that BW & Urines are so good for a 16 yr old FD cat, he said to discontinue the Baytril, he doesnt see any sign of inner ear infection as per the bw, and whatever it was is gone..And he will be there tomorrow all day if needed..Wants to try it without ABs....
Side effects from abs keep showing, so he feels she may be fine now without it--

Please remember this was the vet that aspirated the growth on Copper & saw fluid & blood & said it was a trauma, when in actuality, he had lung cancer (But in fact, he didnt do xrays at that time as we didnt know anything)
OK but I sure hope this guy is Right--He has been a vet for over 40 yrs...My lady vet never mentioned that vertigo thingy..
OK Moonie is off baytril & hopefully she will be ok...

Roni, I'm glad you were able to take Moonie off the baytril. Hopefully, she will start to feel better & without the poopy problems.

Roni, happy to hear that you can discontinue the AB's. Now, hopefully the vomiting will stop and Moonie will be eating well and pooing well! I never heard of the vertigo thing...interesting.

Hope the show goes well without you. Sounds like you have some good help!

YAY on the no more AB's - I hope that will clear up some of Moonie's issues. I'm with Georgia - never heard of the vertigo thing, that is interesting. Well, sending Moonie feel good vines. Enjoy your day Roni.

She did one pee, How Joyful can I be about a Pee?? VERY!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
She seems comfortable & is sleeping Peacefully :mrgreen: Ate a bit on her own :-D
Hope this makes my little girl back to normal!!
Will speak to vet about the adequan tomorrow..
LOVE YOU ALL FOR CARING--i DID LOOK UP THAT SENIOR VERTIGO ON CATS...IT DOES EXIST, but may never happen again (paws & fingers crossed!) be back soon...

Soooo glad to hear that Moonie is feeling better and is off the ABs. That stuff should clear out of her system soon and things should get back to normal. I read up on Feline Vestibular Disease too. Hopefully it was the ear cleaning did the trick.

Enjoy you day home alone w/ Moonie. She will appreciate that!

Yay! I'm so glad to see the good report on Moonie this morning. We know EXACTLY how you feel about the eating and the peeing. :-D I did have to laugh a little though. :lol: I keep thinking about the calla lily. Strangely enough, that was the message on our Friday cat-a-day calendar, that mistletoe and calla lilies are toxic to cats. I'm sorry you had to miss the show but you have to take care of your baby. Hugs to you. I hope DA continues to do well in her recovery.

Off to get strips for Walgreens True Track meter!! It is right nearby, so...This will be my extra meter-may not be great, but, it's a working meter! Hugs BBL! Thanks for your help--We Lubs You!!

Do you have a Target nearby? Their Up & Up store branded meter is the Wavesense which has gotten good reviews. Strips are $20/50 and you can even get a pack of 25/$10 to see you through until an order gets in!

I asked you this before but don't recall an answer.

Can you hold Moonie's head still in your hands so her head isn't moving. Do her eyes move? Do they move left and right or up and down in a repeated way? It may be just noticeable. My dog had vestibular syndrome which unfortunately was most likely a stroke. Most often its not stroke related. Her eyes noticeably moved even without holding her head. She also had a severe head tilt. Some don't get this.

Roni, so glad the Vet called and Moonie is off the AB's. Much better report on Moonie and she sounds peaceful having her MomBean home. Yay for the pee! :-D Good luck with the meter, whichever one you buy. (((Hugs)))

Moonie is much better tonite! She was playing this afternoon with her sparkle ball!! I was so happy to see that!!! She ate pretty well all day & is getting back to herself--

No Karrie, Moonie's eyes didnt move or change or anything, just the staggering. No head tilt either.
I also looked right away at the computer & looked up what it could be & did read that..
Thank God Moonie didnt have it..

DA is doing better & maybe in a private room tomorrow :mrgreen:

I'm so glad to hear everyone is doing better over there tonight! Yay for no more ABs!!! I've heard of dogs having the vestibular problem, so it doesn't surprise me that kitties can get it, too. Maybe she just had a build up of wax in her ear, and when they got flushed out so thoroughly the other day, it fixed things for her.

The Princess Is awaiting me in her cat bed! OK so her numbers are down some :mrgreen: , but not perfect!
Will try to get her down tomorrow as soon as it is out of her system 24-48 hrs.
Went to see my cousins a few blocks from here..had a bbq, but we had to get home to Moonie!
DH did great without me & my DN took over great! Made just a little $$, as It was soooooo HOT,
guess most peeps went to the beach!!! Well, we did make a little $$--Better than nothing!

Have beautiful dreams, pleasant sleepus & to all GOOD HEALTH--It's the most important!
