Is anyone going away for the weekend or have other plans? The weather is really nice this weekend: warm and mostly sunny :-D

Today I'm staying home with the civies. Usually I go to my Mom's house but she's getting her hair done this morning for some party later today. Going to head out to the market soon. I'm attempting to make dinner from scratch tonight :shock: Tomorrow I'm going to Mom's house, maybe we'll go shopping. Monday I'm definitely working a full day :? I know that I'm not leaving until at least 2:30 pm because there's so much afternoon time sensitive stuff to do. One good thing about working on a holiday is that you don't have to deal with customers or an entire team of co-workers. You can get much more accomplished without being pulled into different directions. And the double pay is nice, too :-D

Windows are open nearly halfway and neither civie have fallen out yet nailbite_smile I still worry, though nailbite_smile Emma got me out of bed this morning by throwing up :shock: It was under the bed fortunately and easy to clean up. No idea why she threw up. Maybe a hairball or she ate a dust bunny. Leroy, is, well, Leroy @-) Always running and talking and being underfoot and just being crazy @-)

At Home Depot I bought a portable screen that adjusts to the size of your window frame the way the fanned sides of an airconditioner does. This puts another layer of screen in the window to prevent falls. It's cheap and so worth it.
 
Traci - the expandable screens are a great idea.

Squeem - that sucks that you have to work Monday. Booo. Love hearing about Leroy and Emma.

Tena that crow video was seriously amazing. Wonder how those two found each other.
 
that video is so cute - i've seen it before but watched the whole thing again.

we're going to watch the new Pirates movie tonight! woot! i love watching jonny depp in his pirate get-up. easy on the eyes, you know! :-D

I'll check Home Depot and Lowes for the product. Thanks for the suggestion :-D No idea how other owners here keep their cats safe but then again probably no one else has two crazy cats like mine @-)

BTW, I did buy a 4' x 6' (I think) rug to go under the tree to muffle the loud thumping noises the civies make when jumping off. It's a sort of cream colored rug with small colored squares. Waiting for my brother to get back from his business trip so he can move the heavy tree for me. And replace the curtain rod in my bedroom with a double rod. He'll have to do that in the afternoon so the PITA person upstairs won't complain (maybe).

Well I did volunteer to work, mostly because I knew no one else would :? But it works out anyways because I have a time sensitive project for a new customer that needs to be taken down on Monday and the data entered into the database. And if my supervisor remembered to get his end of the process done yesterday, I have to do the paperwork to initiate a project transfer from one customer to another and send that in so it can be fully processed and approved by Wednesday so I can set up more timed projects. Work is getting busy for me now :shock:

Leroy's currently on the very top of the tree walking around trilling @-) Emma, when I last checked on her a couple minutes ago, was lying at the bottom of the tree napping.

I succesfully made dinner from scratch and didn't set off the smoke detectors or injure myself :-D I used this recipie http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/...allot-carrots-recipe-mslo0710?click=recipe_sr The chicken came out a darker than in the picture and it took longer to fully cook. It was quite tasty :smile:

It's great :-D I can print out the recipies I want instead of buying a cookbook and using only a few recipies. I can only use non-oven recipies. Using the stove is bad enough. Let's just say that Leroy is too curious for his own good and has to be in the middle of anything I'm doing @-)

Hi Squeem-

Yup -like that. You can get different widths; that one would force you to have your window open very wide all the time; there are a mix of sizes. I think this would give you peace of mind.
