Well she has at least started drinking on her own...still rejecting all attempts are food, but at least she is drinking so that's are least something, I haven't actually seen her drink yet, but her water bowl was noticebly down this morning, and so was the bowl of tuna juice I left her with last night.

I couldn't ask for better numbers from her right now on .5u and all she is going through. Sure I would love to see some greens but right now I'm going to settle for the high end of normal and negative ketone tests. I'm seeing tiny little improvements everyday, yesterday it was the energy to use the LB, and interest in checking out Max & Janie's bowls...today it was jumping on the bed by herself and getting in the window to watch the birds. She lets me know when she has had enough and wants to go back to the bathroom to be by herself for awhile, and I abide by her wishes...Her eyes are definitely getting bluer again and her skin is a little less yellow.

I still miss her out here sitting next to me on the computer or curled up on my pillow at night, but we will get there...at least she is still with me, and when I rushed her to the vet on Sunday afternoon I wasn't sure she would be. So I will take the small improvements and just keep plugging along.

It's good to be home Mom...I think I'll nap here

Re: 5/27 Musette amps 107, +3~112

Mel,

That's an encouraging update for Musette. Just really scary how fast she went downhill, so the climb back up might take her a while.

:YMHUG: She's so lucky to have you for her Momma Bean!

Excellent! Negative ketones is great! She'll settle back into normal, but for now at least she's home where she should be and on the road to recovery. Give her a snuzzle from us!

Oh well looks like she bounced a little off the 69 today but then again it has been awhile for her to go that low, plus it is about time for her pain meds again so she could be starting to hurt again too.

Me too...but then again I have no clue what she was running when she was hospitalize ( and neither do they) since they only tested her once a day, and only gave her one shot of Prozinc the entire she was there. Because we all know Prozinc is a once a day insulin. So this string of blues and greens could be the longest she has seen those kind of numbers..in which case, it doesn't surprise me that she bounced like that, she always has been the queen of the bounce, at least on Lev it is only once and awhile instead of about every third cycle.

I need to ask the vet if there is something else they can give her for pain, the bupe makes her really spaced out and that seems like she really doesn't dig that feeling. About 3-4 hours before she is suppose to get her next dose she starts acting a lot like her normal self, that was when she wanted to go watch the birds, then she gets it and all she wants to do is hide in the dark in the bathroom. I think it doing a little too good of a job and she doesn't like the way it makes her feel, like she isn't in control or something. She was a lot perkier when I would visit her at the vet's than most of the time at home...but they were giving an injection of something and this they have me giving orally, and she just isn't feeling as well on it.

Jeddie was like that on the bupe - don't think he cared to be like that either.

The surgeon was taking bout getting compounded Tramadol for pain management when that became an issue. Of course I have no idea how that effects them in the "spaciness" department, but I don't think it is a morphine-type pain killer so might not be as bad.

Glad she's home and u r managing. You gonna talk to your regular vet tomorrow and not those knuckleheads...
Hugs from Cedric & Dallas. and me too!
