Morning! Moonie was doing great this am, ate last night on her own so she had about 1 1/2 cans ff yesterday-
This am gave her breffis & she ate well ,2 hrs later gave her abs in 2 parts & 15 min later, gave her pepcid with a few temptations..She went to LB & had been going well, but she came out & called me--I looked--
Liquipoo! Poor baby--She doesnt get all side effects at once, every day she gets a different one!!!
I have cerenia, metrondizole(from jan. this year in frig) dont know how much to give or even should iI?
She did well yesteday, and is bright & alert today, aside from the liquipoo--
She just had a few bites of ff, waiting to see what happens next! Know that metronizole is Hard On Them, so
Any advice would be appreciated--Looking to see if I still have fortiflora somewhere in the house--I
I FOUND FORTIFLORA!!!!! How to Give?? need Help! UH OH IT"S EXPIRED!!! Give it anyway??
Vet is already gone & wont be in till tomorrow 9-10am..

Poor Moonie, she's having a hard time. How old is the fortiflora? We sprinkle it on top of food and Zener likes it. Tillie the civie thinks it's disgusting. :lol: On the other hand, she loves yogurt. We give her plain unsugared yogurt several times a week. The probiotics are supposed to help internal digestion stuff too. (((((Roni))))) How is DA this morning? GI vines to Moonie and healing vines to DA.

(((Roni))) I use Fortiflora. Like Liz, I was wondering the date expired? Sending feel better vines for Moonie.

FortiFlora - what I was told about expiration...it's the living 'biotics' that 'expire' but the vitamins and minerals are still fine. The biotics may still be 'living' but no guarantee....

Now YOU can decide if this holds soapy water....I have both - I use the expired for vitamins/minerals and the good when needed whole. I can't ever tell the difference....

Poor Moonie, one thing after another. cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon As Lyressa said, it won't hurt to use it, but the probiotics may not be working and that is what you need.

For appetite stimlant just a little can be sprinkled on the food, but to replace the good gut bacteria you should give the full packet per day. If you ca't get fresh from the vet until tomorrow, yogurt is good, but you can get pet specific pro-biotics at most health food stores, they should be open today and are really better than Fortiflora any way.

Look for " live culture" pro-biotics which will be refrigerated, you need to store it in the fridge too once you get it home. Our vet recommended Pet Dophillus made by Jarrow. She said we could find it at Whole Foods but we found it in a vitamin store even in our little un-incorporated town so you should be able to find it easily. Sienne had another one she recommends too, but I can't remember the name, but also at Whole Foods.

If you don't have FortiFlora you can get Culturelle at the grocery store. It is the same thing.

Since Racci always has the opposite problem I have no advice from real experience to give. Just checking on Moonies progress and hoping she feels better. I have heard that canned pumpkin helps the stomach also tho. It wouldn't hurt to try the fortifllora you have in the house in the meantime. Give lots of water so she doesn't become dehydrated.

I hope she feels better soon and can get off those ab's!

How many times Moonie got the liquidpoo? Is it just that one time? Is she going to the lB frequant? If it's not a diahrrea, I'd observe first. Check the food she ate, is all normal?

You may also try a little plain canned pumpkin...no sugar or spices added.....I'm having to give it to Zeke right now...it seems to absorb some of the water that the large intestine can't. I'm giving 1/2 teaspoon twice daily.

Sorry Moonie is having such difficulties right now.

Send lots of healing vines.

I got Culturelle, as no one has any of those other things!--Tried to give her 1/8th tsp culturelle on chicken I cooked--No Go!! She hardly ate but 2 pieces!! It was $25.99!!
Maybe I'll try it in some chopper turkey? Thanks for the suggestions... Hope tonite will be better

I was just checking in on Moonie. I may have missed, but I remember Liz suggesting bf. Did the baby food ever work for Moonie's appy. Good luck with the Culturelle. Moonie you have to start eating just a little. Hugs and vines.

ok sO FAR TODAY!! Moonie liquipoo, ate 3/4 can ff, little chicken, little bits turkey burger, and like 6 temptations...She went down to 160 today..Tonite 132 @-) @-) @-) @-)
First I am low on strips, have no baby food, she ate just a bit of ff, maybe 1/8 can, I burned my finger cooking the turkey burger, she wouldnt eat the chicken with the curelle on it(radar?)-we had a fight, and everything fell out of the towel closet cat(2)_steam
DH just went to get some baby food--I am worried already tonite!
NO poo at all, so hoping it was just a one time occurrance?
BUT My DA is doing very well, I spoke to the ICU nurse :mrgreen:

Will feed Moonie again in like 1/2 hour, really dont want her to drop(antijinx)...
Oy One of those days!!--Hope DH can find the right baby food(he'll be there for an hour for sure :lol: )..

I'm glad your DA is doing well. Hope things get straightened out with Moonie and she starts eating more. I will keep praying for you all.

Poor Roni! What a day. We know how you feel, worrying about not eating. I hope something is appealing to Moonie tonight. I'm glad to hear DA is doing well.

SO FAR SO GOOD!! She ate again from an extra 1/4 can plate I have on her cat condo!! And I gave her
3 Temptations after her test--Maybe she wont drop!!! I got the baby food so I have plenty of choices for her!
Guess the ~O) ~O) ~O) is brewing!! Gosh I hope I can sleep tonite!

Have a good night with SLEEP included, Roni! Did you try the plain Greek yogurt with live cultures? Lots of cats will eat that. Our Alice loved plain yogurt.

Sorry you had such a trying day. But Moonie will get over all of these side effects and all will be well.

Look at Moonie Go & she is eating cat food on her own--Great we just bought culturelle & baby food!!
Oh well guess we will need it sometime..Her good leg is surely bothering her, It used to be the good one, the neuropathy one the bad one..But now..I wont start the adequan till she is all better..too much for her little system to take I think!
One more test, running out of strips!!! OMG! Have enough for tomorrow--

Oh, poor Moonie, she's been through a lot this past week. It sounds like she just had the side effects and it must have been a good call on the vets dx, (anti-jinx). And so Moonie will be back to her normal self sounds like. I take culturelle, sometimes about 3 times a week, its good stuff, and I know it's expensive, so you might as well use it for yourself, but also its good to know I can give some to Daphne now, I didn't know it was the same as Forti. Daphne also loves plain yogurt.

So glad to hear good reports, and that your DA is doing well.

I hope you get some rest soon Roni.
 
She never ceases to amaze me!! She did this mostly by herself! Ate by herself!
I helped some what..Love this girl, got an assist by temptations..She did well/
