Happy Friday FDMBers! (or Saturday, depending on your locale *hi Bron!*)

After reducing to .25IU yesterday AM, Hendrick did give me a little bit of a worry by coming in with his highest PMPS since 4/21, a 107. PMPS is, historically, lower than AMPS so this was a bit weird and off-putting.

Then this morning, he delivers his 2nd lowest AMPS ever at 74. Crazy! But I believe I read that when you modify the dose, you can get odd numbers for a couple days and that is to be expected.

The occasional low blue preshots pop up even in OTJ trials. He is looking good :)

ETA: For some cats, especially at low doses, food brings down the numbers (pancreas produce insulin in response to food). So we suggest feeding a snack at +9 in both cycles to see if that gets rid of the blue preshots.

ok this is super interesting because I already thought I was seeing that happen with Hendrick, but I wondered whether or not I was just imagining it.

specifically, I noted that on days he happened to wake up from his nap mid-afternoon, say around +8 to +9, and have a snack -- he would deliver his lowest PMPS numbers. I mentioned it to my wife but thought maybe it was just a coincidence because in my mind, how could that be. I was thinking well, food raises BG, at +9 the nadir is long in the past, so I must be wrong.

+9 in the PM cycle is going to be tough. That is 3:30 AM. Not sure how to do that other than just set an alarm, but I will do what has to be done for my boy.

I think we are about to see another week in normal numbers… my Crystal Ball tells me so…. It’s sooo exciting! Aren’t you going on a trip with your brothers soon? I’m wondering if you will be away for any … say… interesting or exciting happenings.

funny you should mention that. Right now, with the way the timeline is developing, I will be camping with my big brother up in the Adirondacks possibly during Hen's OTJ trial. Not really a big deal but part of the allure of ADK camping is just getting away from the normal day-to-day and any stress or crap you've got going on in your life. Forget about that all and enjoy the wilderness.

This will not be possible for me lol, I will be thinking about my boy the entire time. There's no towers up there so, won't be able to check in except maybe once a day if we make a drive to get some bars on our phones. It will be a real struggle to relax!

yes that is true. She is a pro now at the Hendrick Pokey

she calls it the "Pokey Shot"

I'm like...we're not shooting anything, that's the insulin, not the ear-poke. She says, no, it's a jab you know, like a shot, pow! Freaking Aussies man....

Beautiful sea of GREEEN. Enjoy your vacation, you deserve it.

Happy Friday!

Let's save that for if he sees more blue preshots. On this dose or at 0.10U.

Total noob question here, but how is it possible to measure such a small dose? Do they make syringes even smaller than the already super tiny standard insulin syringes with 1/10 markings?

We use u-100 syringes with half unit markings. Measuring a 0.10 dose is hard to do with the naked eye - especially considering that markings on most syringes are off. Many of us use callipers to be able to measure doses accurately and consistently.
