Day 2 @ 1.38 Units Lantus

Good morning.....Yoyo has not been himself since the vet appointment last week ....he has been very quiet and doesn't want to eat......so this morning I took his temp which is 103.6.....I called the vet, of course his original vet is off all week. Called another vet that I have used, she too is off until Friday......So I made an appt with my original vet's office who is off all week but I got her associate who I have met and hopefully some bells will ring when she sees Yoyo. I do not LIKE dropping my pet off curb side which I have mentioned before and especially now when it is not his original vet.....but I feel he should be seen and needs an antibiotic which hopefully will bring down his temp.

No wonder his BG is elevated and I have increased his dosage with I am not sure was the correct thing to do when a cat's temp is elevated and not feeling well.

Always something....I hope your week is off to a better start than Yoyo's and mine.

Oh no, I'm so sorry for you and Yoyo, poor baby, another trip to the vet. Do you think he picked up a bug last week at the vet in the city? I hope it's nothing serious and they can treat him with AB's. Will be thinking of you today, let us know how it went. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Uh oh...how far above normal is that? I'm sorry I don't know much about kitty fever. I hope it's not the coronavirus or anything else that's serious.

I sure hope you an get him in to be seen soon...or at the very least have a chat with a knowledgeable vet on the phone.

Sending prayers for Yoyo! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Debra, just saw on Yoyo's SS that he was as the vet today for an ultrasound. I hope everything is ok. Lots of hugs and scritches sent to Yo. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
For you :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Sonia....it has been 2 very long days.....he hasn't been acting right, quiet and loss of appetite.
It was a long holiday weekend and thankfully I didn't freak out, I think I had a lot on my mind with Adori and I thought Yo was just upset with the visit from last week to Ft Lauderdale....but nope, he was sick. I took his temp Tuesday morning and it was 103.6......called vet and off we went. I had to leave him yesterday for an IV drip and blood wk and an ultra sound and Xrays. The vet saw something on the ultra sound and Xray that alarmed her.....she thought it may be a mass. So she scheduled Yoyo for a more complete U/S with a specialist who is mobile and comes to the office.
So back he went early this morning to be back on the IV drip and for the U/S.

U/s did not show a mass.....thank G-d.....but showed lots of other things. May be kidney disease, could be something with his adrenal glands which is very rare, could be liver or spleen issues.....first they want to see if it is kidney disease so a urine culture & sensitivity was sent out along with a SNAPfpl and repeated blood wk. Oh forgot to mention that the pancreas actually looked good but they are still not ruling our pancreatitis.

He is acting better but not great. Still no appetitie. Had cerennia injection yesterday and I believe today also...I need to check the bill. He got an injectin of cenovia. He also went home with zeniquin as that worked for him 2 yrs ago when he got a fever and acted very similar to the way he is now acting. I really believe it is some kind of bacteria that is effecting his kidneys.
I feel like the poor little thing has been checked from head to toe. He is soooo good and lets them do what they need to do. It broke my heart to leave him. I never leave him but she said that IV fluids were necessay as he was dehydrated.

So that is Yoyo's adventure for this week. I hope he starts to get an appetite back and that his temp stays normal.
I thought something was going on when his BG kept going higher and higher.

I'll update hopefully with good news....he does have me scared. Unfortuantely, when they don't act right something is wrong.

Have a good night and tell Leo to look out for Yoyo....he was on his way to the lagoon tonight but actually I hope he stays at the beach...too much of a drop. (I think today was the first day that he hasn't had an insulin injection since he started getting insulin and he was very high tonight 357:eek:

Normal temp shouldn't be above 102.5....When Yo gets a fever he acts very different....very quiet and no appetite....as we all know our kitties, I knew something wasn't right.
I took him to the vet yesterday and back again today.

He had blood wk, ultrasound, xrays and IV drip yesterday and today he went back on the IV drip and a compete Ultrasound with a specialist.

Urine culture and sensitiviy being sent out with SNAfpl and more blood wk.
He is acting a little better but still not the greatest.

I'm thankful he is home. Thank you for caring:)
