Good morning, LL!
Popping in for a weekend up date on Willie, who continues to do fabulously! He's hung out in greens/blues over the past week and has spent lots of time out in the yard on patrol. Both kitties have been especially cuddly over the past few days. Both are really starting to bond with William as well, which just brings a big happy smile to my face.
He absolutely adores Herbie, and he's very fond of Willie as well. I think he is trying to not get too attached to him... he had a very beloved cat Cruella who went to the bridge a couple years ago who was a year younger than Willie, and I can tell that losing her affected him deeply, and I sense that he's guarding his heart a bit. Unfortunately for him, Willie is impossible not to adore.    Herbie continues to sneak in and snuggle him in the middle of the night. She has been cracking me up lately... the only time I can get her to sit still is when I lay on the bed and cover myself with "her" fuzzy tan throw blanket. It's like it transforms me into a mama kitty, and she will come cuddle me, knead the blanket, and even try to nurse.   Whatever keeps away the crazy eyes!! At some point, we'll be having sleep overs at W's house, but as of yet, it hasn't been practical. I'm also worried that, with his bigger house, finding/catching Herbie when it is time to leave might be tricky!
We're headed back to Iowa on June 6th for a long weekend visiting my newly arrived twin nephews Noah and Daniel. My sister will be accompanying us, and we are so excited! The boys are doing great... Daniel just came out of his incubator yesterday and both boys went off oxygen. Over the next 5 days, if there are no breathing incidents and they gain weight daily, they will get to go home. We are saying lots of prayers as it has been hard on DB and DSIL as the hospital is almost 2 hours from home and he has had to stay home to work while she is at the hospital with the babies (and with nursing, she's not been home since the birth).
Willie is due for his annual rabies shot (we do the 1 year one), so I'm going to have them run his labs as well. We'll also be following up with the dermatologist soon as well... I will keep you posted on his results!
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday weekend!
