? 5/26. TR-what is NS level?

Am not comfortable with giving dose as have to go out in an hr to Medical Appointment & will be gone till this afternoon
(So can’t monitor) Is that ok?

Absolutely! Always better to be safe than sorry! Stick with the .25 tonight (and IF you want to change your shot schedule, the safest time to do it is after a skipped shot...so (for example) if you have been shooting at 9am/9pm and you'd like to switch to 7am/7pm or 8am/8pm if you skip the 9am shot, you could shoot anytime from 7pm-9pm

Hi!
Just wondering if in TR there is a BG level & under we don’t shoot? (Just preparing for tonite’s test & shot

Also-for Aussies-have you ordered 1/2 unit syringes from Hyperdrug UK? They sent me an email to check with Australian customs first before ordering to make sure there’s no problem them coming into country

There haven't been any problems that I've heard of but it's been awhile since it's come up. Couldn't hurt to check with Australian customs. They should have a website too that should tell you what's allowed and what's not.

We haven’t had any issues so far with getting them into the country As far as I know. Our main problem has been that Hyperdrug UK said they were not sending any thing to Australia at the moment. That was a while back so maybe they are now. I’d double check that. During covid everything stopped.

With TR you do not shoot below 50 (2.8) on a human meter. Here's a sticky on handling lower preshots:

Rebeka, your Shadow is beautiful!
Bhooma, when I look at Shadow's spreadsheet, there is no US tab... only the world one. Why is this?
Wrt the syringes, I remember one member here not being able to get the syringes because they were rejected by Australian customs. Not sure who it was.

* Shadow has been testing today all under 5.4(97) even without his AM shot. So still do a PM shot if over 2.8 (50)?
Yes. Provided you can monitor. Lantus gives lovely flat cycles when shooting lower numbers.

* When do you know to stop insulin totally on TR method? A few days or a week of under 5.6(100) (with lowest BGs between 2.8-4.4(50-80)?
A cat is considered in remission if it stays in normal numbers without insulin for 2 weeks.

Yes, I can see the US tab on the SS. :-)

A cat's normal range for blood sugar on a human meter is 2.8 - 5.5 (50-100). These are healing numbers for the pancreas. Typically, he would go down the dosing scale - 0.25Un, then 0.10U and then a drop dose and if he stays in all greens on a drop dose, you would start an OTJ trial.
Reminder: *earning* reductions and starting OTJ trials

I'm sharing a few spreadsheets below so that you get an idea of what flat green cycles are like (shoot low to stay low) and also their progress down the dosing scale:

Yes it was me. No idea why. I get syringes from Medical Aesthetics now (they’re used for Botox!).
