Georgia and Simon (GA)

Member Since 2010
Simon just finished up with day 3 of the Clavamox and he has 2 more days to go. His tummy is bothering him on the AB and his appetite continues to be off. I am syringe feeding him to supplement what he doesn't eat on his own. He is also getting B12 shots weekly and buprenex for pain, along with his usual meds Pepcid, ondansetron, and cerenia, and fluids daily. It sure is a process trying to get all meds done and syringe feeding done before I leave for work in the AM. Crazy! I will come home to check on him an give him more food if he hasn't eating anything while I am gone. Simon seemed more alert yesterday and even wanted to go outside a little. DH said he tracked a squirrel -- didn't actually go after it, but at least he was interested!

Missy is enjoying all the numerous cans I am opening to try and get Simon to eat. She gets to eat everything Simon doesn't like. She loves it!! She is also being very sweet with Simon and I think she knows he needs special care right now.

Today is a busy day at work -- hope I can breathe a little.

Morning Georgia :coffee::coffee::coffee:

I so remember the drill, and trying to get all hat done in the AM. It is crazy. Mannie always had issues with the AB's too, and the upset tummie. The older he got, the more susceptible he was to them. I am glad Simon only has a couple of more days to go. Hang in there Simon, almost done with those nasty AB's. We did the B12 shots too, they did seem to help him. It is wonderful that he was more alert yesterday. Awesome! I hop today will be the same.

I really do have to smile at the mention of all those fuds cans, and the civvies cleaning up on the good stuff. It was the same here, can after can for Mannie and the civvies were living the life with his rejects. ;) I can remember one morning I had 10 cans out - still can see them lined up on the counter, until I finally found the one he would eat. Crazy, but worth the effort. It is wonderful how our civvies know that one of the group needs special care. They do watch over them.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Yay for squirrel tracking and almost being done with the AB! Clavamox is so rough on them. My civvie Petey had one dose and didn't eat for over 24 hours...after the one dose, vetty discontinued it. I always cringe when I hear a kitty is on that stuff. But at least Simon is almost done with it. Sending toms of feel better vines Simon's way, and "calm at work" vines your way!

Michelle, too funny on all the cans lined up, but I definitely can relate. I think the most I have had to open is about 5 so far. Thanks, Carla and Elise for the well wishes. Elise, unfortunately, Simon did not eat his snacks in the automatic feeder today.
Amy, yes the Clavamox is tough on tummies. Simon was on one other one that actually made him feel worse. I can't remember what it was called. I wish they could come up with an antibiotic that is not so rough on our babies. 2 more days and counting!
Simon is doing fairly well tonight although I still had to syringe feed. One of the syringes got stuck and then exploded out when I pushed on it and it went all over the place including in my hair. Now I smell like cat food!

Hugs to you, Georgia, you are doing a super job with Simon. I have to admit that I got a little chuckle from the exploding syring and cat food in your hair. :joyful: Sending bunches more appy vines for your guy.
Liz
