5/26 Pete (AMPS 232, +2 216, +11 84, PMPS 83) Shooting low tonight

I was out of the house for his mid cycle tests today but I think Petey is going through a bounce clearing low cycle after a HI following a fur shot. I think he's flattened out so I went ahead with his food just now and I'm going to stretch his insulin to about half an hour late to give him a little more time to start rising before it kicks in.

Hoping I'm doing the right thing here. I'll have to either stay up or get up in the middle of the night to get some mid-cycle readings and make sure he is staying stable. I have shot this low before but I think it's only my second time. Please let me know if you think I should be handling different in these situations and fingers crossed for a good night and stable BGs tomorrow!

Congrats on shooting this green. :D When shooting your lowest yet, it's a good idea to get a +1 and a +2 to see how the cycle is shaping up. You don't want to delay too much the shot, as some cats will drop without food. I see you shot lower on the 22nd and it was a good cycle.

If he zooms up early in the cycle, it's likely a bounce and you can get to bed earlier.

Thanks! We're up to 101 (from 83) at +2 and the pattern is almost identical to his bounce recovery on 5/22 so I feel pretty good about it so far. I'll probably still get up to check him in the middle of the night but it's really nice to start seeing patterns in his responses so I'll be able to predict what he'll do in the future without having to stay up all night to monitor haha.

Yes, he seems to be one of those cats that nadirs at the end of the cycle (or close to it) when clearing bounces, so it's a good idea to get used to shooting green. :-)
