Yesterday's Condo

Breakfast is done and the kitties are relaxing in their "spots" - Gabby guarding the call and Gizmo at the top of the cat tree. All 5 Ps are duly noted. I still can't figure out why Gabby wants to provide aromatherapy while I'm in the shower, though.

Today is a bittersweet day. It's Gabby's one year anniversary of being diagnosed with diabetes. The positives are that she is a happy, healthy cat who, a year ago, was on an ICU and her recovery was questionable. The other good thing is that I found FDMB, to both of our benefits. The downside is that Gabby is still not tightly regulated and her FD management is challenging. All things happen for a reason though. We'll keep taking baby steps forward and hope we get there, wherever there is.

WOW - bittersweet days... I can so relate to all you said there. Right now i'd give anything to be regulated. But you are right - they are happy, healthy. It has been two years for Mannie - I still can't remember the exact date I got the word, obscured in too many omg's, but it was this month. So true, so true: "All things happen for a reason though. We'll keep taking baby steps forward and hope we get there, wherever there is."

I hope all there have a great day today. on the aromatherapy comment - why do they do that? it is the same here...

I know exactly what you mean when you say bittersweet day ... seems like mocha and gabby were diagnosed right around the same time and both are still fighting us on becoming regulated ... they will get there (hopefully together!) but in the meantime, enjoy the happy healthy kitty you have today, and give her extra kisses from us!

I have to thank you for all your help. Don't know how you fit it in. I remember when I first came to this board you were right there asking questions and prodding me to keep the SS up to date. At first I admit I was a bit intimidated - then I realized that was just you keeping us under your vigilant wing!

I didn't know you'd only been in LL for a year. Look how much information you have learned and how you share it with others. You have literally been a life saver for many here. For your next year I am wishing for regulation for Gabby and a continued happy, healthy cat for you. Thank you for being here.

Yes it is a happy anniversary Sienne.
Gabby is loved and healthy and that is wonderful.
She will be what she wants to be. Drama Queen.

On the other side you know how much you have done and still do for everyone here.

Sienne, what a laugh I had to read thAt you must breathe in thAt aromatic odor while you are in the shower. Gabby sure is a prankster!

Wow, a year with Diabetes. One thing I sure do know is you know your stuff and Gabby is way lucky to have you taking care of her. :smile:

Happy Anniversary! I've said this before, but the way I look at it is that one year ago today, you probably thought your days with Gabby were very limited. Now it has been a whole year, and not only is she still here, but she is healthy and shiny and funny and everything she was before her diagnosis.

I'll also add to the thanks the others are offering to you. You have learned a lot in a short time, and you spend many hours here each day helping others. You're a tremendous help to me, every day. Thank you!

Hey, it's the anniversary already?? I remember sending a PM to a certain somebody maybe sometime in the summer last year trying to convince this certain someone to come over into LL instead of health. There was some hesitation there - thinking that the family in LL was too tight for newbies...... You came, you conquered and are a vital part of the FDMB family. You give awesome advice, spend hours on this site and anybody here is lucky to have your input. And you have some pretty cool cats - well Gizmo is and of course Gabby is a tortie so who can say... :lol:
Thank you for all the input you do for this site. I am sorry that Gabby hasn't been one of the lucky ones to OTJ quickly - but the selfish part of me is very glad you are still here. I hope this next year finds better regulation for gabby! Hey - and ya never know - she still could surprise us and go OTJ!

Hmmm, maybe Gabby is refusing to regulate because she knows you are needed here and she's not quite finished training you? I can't imagine how, but you must have more to learn :mrgreen: Do you have to dump less vital info to store all the FD and other kitty health stuff you've got hanging around in your brainz? ;-)
