Sgans and Eegie - GA

Member Since 2015
Still forcing raw into him along with tons of probiotics to try to counteract the covenia effects. Doctor is calling Pfizer to see if there's some way to counteract the effects. He's keeping his food and probiotics down, but completely anorexic and walking dizzy. Poop isn't good - but that's not my main concern.

I'd asked in another thread - has anyone used Canna Pet for appetite and did it help?

Okay - his dizziness and lack of energy have me and the vet worried - we tested for anemia and he doesn't have that. Doc gave me Nutrical - I KNOW, it's gonna increase BG, but we need to balance for energy/dizziness - so I'm going to do a BG test - give some Nutrical and then test an hour later... see what it does...
Tested 361 at +4, will test again at +5 (1 hour after giving Nutrical)

Yup, @Amy&TrixieCat - that was the 2nd thought after anemia (which had been my idea, as I remembered a previous cat walking wonky due to anemia). Neither one exists. He believes it's just he's losing it - very low energy, so low balance. Hence, the Nutrical.

+5 was 278, so lower than test pre-Nutrical - so maybe it's not that big a BG jump. Hopefully, it'll energize him...

Ordered Canna Companion today. Hopefully, that'll improve his appetite, or willingness to eat. It doesn't do it alone (low thc levels), but many people on the IBD board said it significantly improved their cat's appetite and energy. Never know with Eegie, but it's worth trying.... I'm desperate here!

I'm afraid I may be losing him. He won't walk more than a couple of feet before lying down. He won't sit for his meds. I've fed him quite well today, and it hasn't helped his energy at all. One more dose of Nutrical before bed tonight. The Canna Companion's my last hope, otherwise if he doesn't show improvement, tomorrow would probably be his last day based on how today has gone. I'm desperate.
