We are on day 5 with no insulin. I woke up at 5:10am this morning reaizing that Cedric did not get his last 1/4 can for dinner last night (I have been trying to space 4 small meals for him until I get an auto feeder). I got out of bed about 5:25 to go down to feed him, I felt so bad. He and I snuggled like two spoons on the couch last night and fell asleep watching an old movie.

At 6:35 this morning I tested him. I thought the number would be higher since I had fed him, but an hour had gone by. He seemed fine, and I gave him his next 1/4 can, plus last night's (hoping since it was colder, it would keep longer). Well he immediately stopped eating the Wellness turkey and salmon, and started on the leftover EVO from yesterday. He also demanded some hugs, so I guess he's fine. Needless to say, I am calling Drs Foster & Smith when I get home to order that feeder....!

I spoke with the vet's office this am and they are very pleased. They recommended testing 2x per day for the next 3 days, but I said I was going to go with the advice of you guys and continue thru next Saturday. They want me to test once per week after that, and we will go in for a frutocisime (crap, however you spell it) test to double check.

I did expalin to Lisa (pet lover extrodinar and wonderful vet tech) that it must be a combination of a possible weight loss due to the new home, the change in type of canned food (to grain free, high protien & low carb) and the change in dry then elimination of dry. I told her you guys said that i MUST get rid of the dry!
