Black yesterday

Low pink is looking good this morning. :roll: :roll: :-x :lol: Hope he's on the way to some lower floors. He had a picnic and yard patrol in our smoke-free yard this morning. Appy is so-so.

OT: Thank you for the visits yesterday. The fire news is about the same as before, which is good. There are about 1000 people working on the fire. They are building firelines around the north end and are going to let the fire burn to that. It's about 8000 acres now, it could go as high as 25,000, which I think shocked some of the locals. But they are fighting on flatter terrain now, not the vertical cliffs of Oak Creek Canyon and other canyons. The bad news about that is there will be lots of smoke for several days as they do burnouts ahead of the main fire to reduce fuels. Ugh. At least we are getting periods of clear air. The smoke isn't great for the kitties either so we are trying to limit their outdoor time when it's smokey. Zener insists on having his picnics though or he won't eat. Crazy cat. :lol: :lol:

Silly kitty insisting on eating outside, I hope Zener will eat inside when it's smokey out. I'm glad they have a plan for the fire and it's not any worse.

Zener is sporting those forest fire glow colors. UGH. Still, these are lots better than yesterday evening!

Thanks all for checking in on us and sending support. :YMHUG: The smoke has returned with a vengeance. Kitties and beans are on "house arrest", no outdoor activities.

Well bummer on Zener sporting those fire colors... :roll: but at least he is coming down. Well he was until that +6. Sometimes I think our kitties just feed on our anxiety, they know when things are stressful. Mannie always kinda did, and up went the BG's. Come on down Zener! The other floors miss you, How about a slide today?

I am glad things seem to be stabilizing for you, with the fire. That is alot of acreage. Last I heard containment was at about 25%, can't remember for sure. I appreciate all your FB posts, as I try to watch what is happening there, and they are very helpful. All of what is happening there is also making our news too.... I will hope they get it contained soon, but know how hard that is. So so nice to read that you are now getting periods of clean air.

Anne and Liz, I am thinking of you and hoping the fire is contained soon. It is so scary to see the pictures on the news. Zener will just have to picnic indoors -- can you move his little picnic table inside?

Hey Zener, what are you doing in pink today? I think you look so much better in yellow, or even blue. There's room on the shore of the lagoon where Cinco's hanging out. Why don't you come spend the evening with him? No smoke here.
