I'm very pleased with how Susie did yesterday. She was pretty steady and maintained many blues. I know I did not get a single green but I am comfortable with that and comfortable with this dose for now. If I can get her stabilized maybe I can get her regulated.

Looks like we might go to the lagoon today. 100 point drop from AMPS to +2. Fed .75 oz l/c at +2. Hope I am doing this right.

Continued prayers for Cindy on the loss of her boy, Inky.

Susie is looking good. I agree with Katherine. Make sure you get a +3 after the 100 point drop. You may need to feed MC or HC next test to keep her surfing safely. I'm at work, but I'll try to check back later.

Good morning, Summer!. :coffee: You're doing great, and good job with the LC. I'd get a +3 to make sure she's not dropping more as there was a big difference between AMPS and +2. Decide what to feed her again then, but keep the portion small and no MC unless it's below 60. You got this, cat mama! :bighug:
Just got the +3. It was 85. I figured with that back drop from AMPS to +2 that she might hit green at +3. Fed another .75 oz l/c at +3. She has already had 2/3 of the food I normally feed her through her am cycle. Maybe I don't need to be feeding this much at +2 and +3 but I want her to have some food in her belly when she starts diving. Thanks for your nice comments.

I would have kept that LC at a spoonful, maybe half of what you fed her. Keep the portions small while getting her to surf.

Thanks, Carla. 85 at +3. So far I have fed 1.5 oz l/c at AMPS, .75 oz l/c at +2 and .75 oz l/c at +3. I'll also get a +4. Funny because after yesterday, and how steady in the blues she was, I was looking forward to giving her a break today and doing less test.

Okay. If she needs any at +4 I will give only about .37 oz l/c (unless she is dropping to quickly).
With that much food, she will probably hold steady or even go up a little. If she's holding steady, don't feed her for another two hours. You don't want to force those numbers up unnecessarily and push her into higher blues again. We want her green for as long as we can.

She was at 78 at +4 and I didn't give her any more food. I'll test again at +5 then I am going to lie down for a little while but will get up and test and feed her 1.5 oz l/c around +6 (her nadir). Sound okay?

Hi Summer, looks like you are having a busy day with Susie. I was so happy she was holding those blues for you and you could relax a bit yesterday. Unfortunately, our cats love to keep us on our toes. I thought Dolly’s big 75 point drops at +2 were scary but if I remember right Susie had 2 100 point drops one after the other and then some, last week. Looks like she is rising at +6. I hope the rest of your day mellows out. Surf safely sweet Susie. Summer you are doing the best job with her, she’s in your safe hands. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
So deeply sorry for the loss of Inky :rb_icon:
I have panic attacks when someone I know doesn’t post for a day or two. :nailbiting:

Good afternoon/morning, Adrienne. She has had a few pretty big drops early in the cycle. Just tells me I have to stay on my toes. I was very pleased yesterday but I must admit it is a "bit of a rush" when she hits green. The other aspect I am liking is she doesn't seem to be bouncing as much. Maybe her little body is getting used to some better numbers. I have to be gone tomorrow afternoon from 3 pm (EST) until 6 pm and am a little concerned because sometimes she will drop late in her cycle but never like the mornings. I'll probably just leave her a little food before I am out the door. I had been planning on backing off the testing today to give Susie a little break but, as you said, our cats love to keep us on our toes. Enjoy your afternoon and thanks again for the kind words. By the way, what is Pseudomonas? I feel so badly when kitties (and beans) have more to deal with than the diabetes.

I was really upset about Inky. It just stunned me when I read it and I started crying. Poor little kitty he had come such a long way and making incredible strides with the OTJ trial. My heart just broke for Cindy. I'm a very emotional person too so things hit me hard.

Wow, Summer! Susie's numbers look wonderful! Well done.
Thanks, Kathleen. I couldn't do it without the wonderful folks on this site that guide me with " feeding the curve". I hate the AMPS and PMPS. One of these days I'll figure them out. I hope Fred can come down a little soon.
