Good Morning, Everyone,

Looks like a bounce from yesterday's pretty good cycles, but this morning is only cycle 3 of the fattened dose, so Rusty can have some more time to settle in. Rusty had a good night snuggling between his beans (it got cold last night). He had finished all his nighttime food and was eager for breakfast and his lung treat. We had a good test and a good shot. Last night before he came upstairs to bed he was tearing around in the livingroom, batting his bell balls, and pouncing on his Gevalia coffee box (which has long been broken down and was essentially a piece of flat cardboard; this morning it was totally flattened out and I had to tape up one end to get it back to the way he likes to sit and lie in it!). This coffee box is Rusty's shot site, so it is important that it be "just right". It is smaller than a shoe box, but Rusty has broken it down over the last year or so and can fit himself into it. He also uses it as a play site for games with the bell balls and mice. We have lots of these Gevalia boxes (I am a box hoarder) and I think we have to start him working on a new one!

Our warm, muggy, thunderstorm weather has turned cool (44 degrees this morning) with a cold, steady rain falling. The temperature is supposed to keep dropping and we are expecting some snow tonight and tomorrow!! That's just great for the canoeing weekend we have planned. ohmygod_smile My sister is spending the weekend with us. On Monday our little "Wayfarers" group is having our annual Memorial Day paddle and picnic. Fortunately it is supposed to be nice weather by Monday, but still cool.

Wishing you all a good day and sending healing vines to Simon and all kitties and beans in need.

Ella & Rusty

Hey Kities! Tomorrow is the Full Flower Moon and we've got to plan for the Full Moon Party. The heat is on in my house and the radiators are nice and warm. We can plan for the party and whip up some hot tuna toddies and cimmamum cookies. This will be the first party without Chef Mannie's menu selection. I've asked Elsa to bring some of his recipes along to help us plan the menu. But we need suggestions from all of you, too. The Kitchen Krew can cook just about anything, but we need to see the recipe. And we need to find a good venue for the party. I can have it either here, in my barn, or down at Camp Stu. But we're supposed to have snow tomorrow. Anyone want to volunteer a warmer place for the party. It is, after all, the Full FLOWER Moon!
See you all later,
Rusty

Hi guys .. aww it sounds like rusty was having a really good night last night! And yes, those boxes need to be "just right" for our kitties .. Sorry to hear about the snow headed your way .. we don't have any of that but we sure do have cold temps this morning! have a great holiday weekend!

Re: 5/24 Rusty AMPS 189

Morning Ella, so nice to hear how playful Rusty was last night. Hope he takes to his new box. That's too bad about the weather and the paddle, Geesh on snow for memorial Day weekend! Hope Rusty does a nice slide down.
You asked me about the Wasabi Mayo. I plan on trying over the weekend. I'm so glad I bought it, as I just stumbled on it at TJ's while I was sightseeing the goods.

Rusty, radiators day sounds cozy to me. I'll bring some fixins for fish tacos. Hot tuna toddies and cinnamum cookies, oh boy. Be there soon, Mags

Morning Ella,
ohmygod_smile weather!!! i'm grumping about frost  You're so right...it's all about perspective. Got my fingers crossed for your paddle on Monday. Have great fun with your sister. Family visits are such fun.. does she shovel?

Rusty and his coffee box cat_pet_icon  Might there be a picture somewhere? It sounds like he's in great form tearing around, batting his bell balls and is just waiting to settle into his new dose. Work it Rusty!

Hey Rusty! Menu planning..hmmmmm. I'm glad Elsa is bringing some of Mannie's recipes. That's gonna help alot. I hope he comes to the meadow again. Maybe we can have some more of those crispy spider appetizers? they were waaayyyy yummers. I can do crispy hibiscus with honey dipping sauce cause it's the flower moon. I gots all colors of them in FL... i'll run and get some. My beans are in WI...if we want a warm place, we could use my pool in FL. we could fish the dock, swim, play on the beach and watch the dolphins. Maui could bring her yacht!!! NO beans to tell us no! see you in a sec. - oliver

Hi again,
It looks like a high blue rest day (or maybe NDW). The weather is certainly cooperating. It is really awful outside.

Gotta go do some more grocery shopping to get ready for my DS's visit (she arrives tomorrow, and yes, she does shovel!). Before the cold weather, we were going to have spring-like foods and salads, but now I'm going to make a hearty minestrone for tomorrow night!

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Yo Ollie, Yo Kitties: Ollie is going to host the Full Flower Moon Party in Florida. He has some great menu ideas (see above). We can discuss the menu today on my radiators.

Great WCR and awesome plans for the weekend. As long as you don't fall in I love paddling in cool weather.

If Rusty has had the same box for a year it probably IS time for a new one!

Rusty! Who's watching the Lagoon? On my way w/ Catmint Crisps and cookbooks. I can make Rose Petal Ice Cream w/ Hibiscus Flower Coulee and we can all wear Leis! -- Tess

Re: 5/24 Rusty AMPS 189, +5.5 193

Another flat blue day in Rustyland? NDW, time to go away. Great story on him playing and lovin on his coffee boxes. :-D

The weather sounds brrr. TIme to bring the quilts back out for the bed. I hope you do get paddling on the weekend. That's what layers and fleece are for. Enjoy the time with your sister - no matter what the temperatures.

Rusty - Lavender is blooming on the deck, I can swipe some for making my Seared Ahi Tuna with Lavender-Pepper Crust. Be there in a jiff for the planning session. ~Neko

Re: 5/24 Rusty AMPS 189, +5.5 193

It sounds like Rusty is feeling really good. Hopefully he'll get back to the lagoon soon. That's funny with his coffee box. I hope he likes the new one. Have a good visit with your sister this weekend.

I'll be right over for the planning party. I hope we can come up with a good menu.

Re: 5/24 Rusty AMPS 189, +5.5 193, +9.5 133

Awww Ella......I love to hear about Rusty playing. :-D What is it about boxes? Checks is a box sitter too, but he doesn't have a favorite. I'm with Mary...would love to see a pic of him squooshing his body in the coffee box.

Guess what? We had our snow today. At noon, it was snowing while the sun was shining. I couldn't get good pic of it.
It got all the way up to 38 today.
I hope you get to enjoy your weekend, even with the cold weather. What fun, to have your sis there.

Re: 5/24 Rusty AMPS 189, +5.5 193, +9.5 133, PMPS 130

Hi again,

Rusty is doing well this afternoon/evening with his bgs--coming down nicely. He's looking up recipes for tomorrow's Full Flower Moon Party. I'll try to get a picture of the coffee box tomorrow.

My sister is arriving in time for lunch tomorrow. I hope this awful, cold, rainy weather will improve. We probably won't paddle tomorrow, but we'd like to go for a walk. We'll be paddling on both Sunday and Monday (the big paddle with the group is on Monday).

Wishing you all a good evening. Edward and I are going to watch a favorite movie ("Casablanca") and drink some champagne to celebrate our 44th anniversary.

Ella & Rusty

Happy Anniversary, Ella and Edward! 44 is my favorite number. Really. It was my number when I played basketball in college. :-D Rusty, you do not need to throw a 44 to celebrate. Uh, anti-jinx, just in case he's got ideas.

Thanks, everyone. Rusty gave us a nice gift. His first green in a while. Yay for the LagoonMeister! No bounces, now!

See you all tomorrow!

p.s. "Casablanca" gets better and better. I think we've seen it at least 50 times.
