Good Morning Everyone,

Rusty had a good night, sleeping with his beans. Good wake-up call this morning, good test, good shot, 2 installments of breakfast. Pretty nice to be a cat! He's still hungry!

I cancelled my bike ride: the weather is just too iffy. None of the other people can ride tomorrow, when the weather is supposed to be good, so I'll have to reschedule it for some other time. Instead I think I'll make a kitty-supplies trip to Plattsburgh.

The main event of today is: drinking11 drinking24 Our 42nd wedding anniversary!! 24 May 1969 was a hot, humid, sunny day in Brooklyn. We had contracted with a local minister to come to my Auntie Elsie's house to perform the ceremony. He was late and then he forgot my name, but that was OK. The party after the thankfully-short ceremony was terrific. Edward had my nieces and nephews opening the wine and he told them they could have the first glass from every bottle. All those kids (ranging in age from 10-16) were pretty happy as the party progressed. We were certainly not a good influence on them!!
It's been a good 42 years. None of our friends who were at our wedding are still married to the same person!!!

Wow. 42 years? You're lucky you found each other. :smile: Enjoy your Wedding anniversary - Rusty seems to be doing great!

Congratulations!!!!! In this day and age, you are definitely in the minority and are a role model for young people as they get married. Celebrate your hearts out!

Glad Rusty had a good night and morning so far. Too bad about the bike ride.

Thanks, everyone, for your anniversary wishes! We just got back from racewalking (no rain), had lunch, fed and tested Rusty, and I'm about to leave for Plattsburgh for kitty supplies. Edward and Rusty will enjoy some time in the garden.
Yes, a dry cellar would be a nice anniversary gift, but I don't think it will happen today!!
Back later, after Plattsburgh, and will be able then to visit some condos.

Hi again, everyone,
I had a successful trip to Plattsburgh and got Rusty food, litter and freeze-dried chicken treats. Rusty and Edward spent about an hour in the garden while I was out and had a really nice time. Rusty was interested in a beetle, the moths, and the ants. They also had a good grooming session. My boys have really bonded. Rusty is so good outside and never goes far from one or the other of us. When it's time to come in he runs right to the door. What a wonderful kitty he is!

We had a nice anniversary dinner (spinach linguine tossed with salmon, pea shoots, tomatoes, garlic, onion, and olive oil). Mango sorbet for dessert. Rusty had a little of the salmon, plain. This evening we will watch a movie on TV. We old folks like to stay at home on special occasions and chillax!

Ella, Edward, Rusty (and Stu, who was remembered fondly when Rusty discovered the catmint plants--although he was not as enthusiastic about them as Stu was!)

Happy 42nd anniversery Ella and Edward! What a wonderful milestone!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful day all in all. I'm glad to see that Rusty is melting into your family so well and that he really has bonded with you guys. How sweet!
Rusty's numbers today look pretty good, too!

Sheesh, it just took me ten minutes to ask you about tornado warnings last night, then realized it was too darn long, so deleted, when I realized, if you'd had all the warnings, like we did, you would have mentioned it here. :roll:
