Still loose so I started him on the flagyl again last night. Right now, I'm thinking about what diet I'm going to get him on while he's on the flagyl. Unless anyone has a suggestion, I'm thinking the Nature's Variety/Instinct raw diet.

You might PM Beth (Atlas). She has fed that in the past and might still be. She's very knowledgeable!

Raw can have a big benefit in the poo department. However, I'd make the transition a gradual one. It did cause Gabby to have a bit of looser poo until she got used to the raw. FWIW, I've found Wellness to have similar benefits as raw (i.e., less odor, more complete utilization of the nutrients in what I'm feeding). If Jinx has IBD or if that's a consideration, I'd encourage you to take a look at Dr. Lisa's website on feline nutrition. She's a huge proponent of raw food but does note that you may need to partially cook food for cat's with compromised GI systems. There's a ton of info on her site about raw diets.

Thanks, Marjorie and Sienne. Just got back from a specialty pet food store and the owner strongly urged me to try to get his stools to firm up a bit before switching to raw. Suggested fiber and probiotics along the lines of what you all have told me.
So, I picked up some high protein, low carb, but unfortunately higher fat Nature's Variety/Instinct canned chicken and duck. Started him on the flagyl last night so once his stools firm up again I am leaning towards taking him off to see how he's taking to the Instinct. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please let me know.
At some point, I plan on getting Jinx on a raw diet and will definitely PM Beth and will start looking at Dr. Lisa's website today.

**Not the psyllium... I meant the SEB. I've been giving him a tsp of SEB slurry/gruel with every meal and the actual SEB amount would be well under a tsp per serving. Nevertheless, I'm going to not giving him any for the next day or so to see if that works.
