5/22 - Haley - OTJ Trial Day 10 - AMBG 93, PMBG 81

Day 10 and the blues had are few and low enough to be considered green also!
Well, the 104 and 101 for sure can be considered green - The 111, I would have only been concerned if it kept upward.

When Mouzer went into remission in 2017, he had seven blues out of the 14 day trial. Three is not bad at all and even up to seven, and I dont know how many more would be acceptable but I know those seven were acceptable back then lol
That is what I was going to base Mouzer's trial on for this go round. If he got more than seven blues, I would have considered more insulin, but if seven or less, then remission and as long as those were not high blues.

I dont know about other cats, but I do expect Mouzer to present more blues to me in time. Mouzer ran green for some time after remission in 2017 but at some point he would spit out some early cycle blues below 120 and turn green by mid cycle, so that was acceptable. As long as he has 130 and below for blue and turns green and maybe a sporadic blue higher than 130 but it must not be a regular event, he will be ok.

I hate seeing any blue but I know Mouzer and he is not an all green cat. I did read that if a cat in remission runs 139 and up as an often event, that is a cat in remission who will eventually go full diabetic again, so that is what I will be keeping an eye on.

I am so happy to see this for Haley and you! I cannot express that enough. I know you are about to jump right outta your britches with excitement!
As Mouzer began closing in on the latter days of this 14 day trial, I was scared to show any excitement. I had to contain myself until it was done, and even when he made the14 days, I have been too afraid to express my happiness and excitement, lest it all go awry. And each test I do now, I always have that fear that I am going to see some high blue or low yellow to trip me out.

Yes! The best part is that she’s been green for her AMBG! When she did her first trial they started to consistently be blue even though I got up at 5:30 AM to give her a snack. That’s when she went back on insulin but that was only for about a week and a half and then we started the trail again. Thank you for the encouragement! Yeah, I was wondering how many blues are acceptable. But I’m not even gonna question.

I understand what you’re saying about Mouzer. Well I hope he doesn’t present more blues. Those early cycle blues make me nervous. Because, that’s what made Haley fail the first trial. I hope he can get into a permanent remission. Well, you’re keeping your eye on him so you are doing the best that you absolutely can’t for him.

I am just about ready to jump out of my britches with excitement. I pray it sticks. Literally. 40 years ago I bought a crucifix me and I didn’t wear it for a long time. I thought I lost it but I found it three days ago and I’ve been praying on it for Haley. My beautiful little girl does it deserve this. Neither does Mouzer or any other kitty. I know what you mean about Wanting to hold back the excitement. I know. I’m afraid of it I’m blowing up at the last minute or even later on. The morning test make me the most nervous. Well, all I can do is do the best I can to take care of her and pray about it and for Mouzer, too

Mouzer will never be an all green cat. I dont know if there are all green cats lol I dont see anybody sitting on top of their cats, all day, every day, just to see if they ever go blue heehee We dont know ahahahaa

Mouzer kept remission for four years and I know he was getting into the dry cat food for the others, which I later realized had sweet potatoes, which would be worse for Mouzer. It was a Merrick's brand for sensitive tummies and I got it because I got sick of cats puking all of the time. So, I am pretty sure that is why Mouzer came out of remission. And he will have his blues, he will even have a day or two of nothing but blue from time to time, as long as it stays 130 and below, I wont worry unless he continues three, four or more days of all blue. I expect blue out of Mouzer.

My only other fear of what could bring Mouzer out of remission is if he gets an infection, and if the veterinarian does something stupid like our vet just did with prescribing liquid Clavamox for the diabetic kitty, which I found said that liquid Clavamox does contain sugar, unless it states no sugar, and most liquid medications are not for the diabetic kitty, so now I know not to allow the vet do give these things or any corticosteroids. And there is no way I would ever leave Mouzer with the vet, not even for a day. I dont know what I would do if it came to that being needed, because I do not trust any veterinarian at all, not enough to give them free run with my diabetic/remission cat.

What I am not liking around my place now is, I will not have any high carb food here again. I have Young Again for everyone. I have the Young Again Mature for Mouzer and the Young Again Zero for the others, which is also safe for the diabetic kitty. I also have Dr Elsey's.
BUT I now have drippy behinds of liquid poop I am having to clean up. I have given medication for diarrhea and that has helped most of them but I have two other kitties that so far, that is not even helping, and I dont know what to do for them. I cannot have high carb dry here. I am hoping those two kitties eventually get back to normal.
