Hi All. This is the first chance I've had to get on today.
All is well with Checkers. Ate what he should. Did all the Checkers things, before I had to go out. He gave me some good safe numbers to go out on.
I think I stink at microdosing. After getting bubble out, it messes up counting drops, so have to eyeball it.

Oh Barb, I can totally relate. I have my glasses on and have a 4x magnifying lens to peer through.

I saw this and it made me giggle.....kitty trying to microdose...geez louise.

I can see the darn insulin, with my big lighted magnifying glass, even without it, holding the syringe up to a window,
I just don't know how much I'm looking at.
Ya know, is it .10, or .12 u,etc. Even counting drops isn't always precise.
I can't believe what a differece one little drop makes.
There are so many variables in this...just a little food, can make today different than yesterday, with the exact same dose.

I finally got my SS updated. I HATE GOOGLE, AND DIALUP COMBO!
Had my rant for the day now. :lol:

Barb....are you in an area that has high speed instead of dial up? Some companies offer great deals. In fact, a few years ago when Qwest put DSL in our neighborhood, they had a promotion of $25/month for life....that was cheaper than my dial up.

It's tough to microdose and sometimes I wonder how close I am getting from one dose to the next. I feel like it's pretty close....I have old insulin and I practice with that; I have a chart with all my doses. But getting the drops the same size...it's tough. Ann has a great method but with lantus, the drops are too big and I need to dose in between those. So I understand!!!

Still....a nice cycle for Checks today. Have a great day.

Marjorie, it isn't the cost, that keeps me on dialup; there is no highspeed available here. No cable even.
I get 3 TV channels.

Okay, there is satellite, but I had DISH at one time, and every time it rained, fogged, snowed, etc, I lost most of the channels. I live in a bad spot in a valley. Everyone on my road complains.....still Verizon does nothing.
We have underground cables for phone, and when it rains for days, it messes up the dialup, even.
We are a dozen homes on a deadend road....Verizon couldn't care less about us. Poor poor me. :lol:
People on the main road, 1/3 mile from me, have cable. GRRRRR!

We had another blue day. I'm not unhappy with it, considering I'm not sure Checkers even got the drop this morning.
Tonight I was just playing with the syringe again, and kept getting only 2 drops from .5u., instead of the 3, I was getting.
I hope he got his .10 tonight. I could see insulin in the syringe.

Tomorrow morning, I have to leave house for pre-op screening, half hour before his shot time. I won't be back for hours.
I probably won't shoot.
 
Hi Barb - wow in the cable and internet and dial up and all of that.... how incredibly frustrating. :-x I will stop complaining when things here don't move at warp speed. It always amazes me when I hear that people how are so close to people like you have it all. It makes no sense that they can't take care of you guys too....

omg on tena's photo - too funny! i too can relate - I have to get the glasses, put on the magnifier and then I'm still not sure. I am for consistency and hope I make it.

Good luck with your pre-op stuff. I can understand why you may not shoot. he will be OK, and no worse for wear, and will be back on track in no time.
 
Holy Moley Barb and you live in NY? Sounds like your living in the stone ages.... :lol: kidding of course. That really does suck tho, do they have satellite high speed internet? Where they come set up a mini satellite dish? I had to get that for my parents a few years ago, they were in the same situation with only dial up and still there is no high speed in their area. I suppose if your cable doesn't work maybe that idea wouldn't work either.

And sounds like microdosing isn't much fun......good thing Leo isn't there! :lol: Maybe someday tho.....i hope.

just want to wish you well in the morning on your pre-ops - by the time i'm up out here, you'll already be gone. i trust it will go well and checkers will be fine!

my daughter has the same problem with the internet and tv - she's in a little pocket neighborhood in a rural area of oregon, just 10 minutes from the coast but that's all it takes. it does make it tough!
 
Wow...hard to believe in 2011 that not everyone in the US has access to high speed. What is up with Verizon????
