Sly seems really sluggish this morning. wondering if the 1/2 pill of Cerenia is too much for him. We've given him 1/4 tab in the past.

I have a couple cans of Nature's Variety and Hound&Gatos novel proteins so we'll see if Sly will consider eating rabbit or venison today.

ETA: Sly says rabbit is icky, please feed me something else mom!!

Sly really seems like he feels punky this morning. I realized I hadn't seen him come upstairs at all and went to look for him and he was still sleeping downstairs. Hardly cared when I tested him. Medicines are kickin' his butt and reflecting in his BGs I think:(

((((Melanie))) Tiger's box of Cerenia is 4 16mg tablets, her dose is 1/4 of the tablet(4mg) I usually cut the 1/4 in half because Cerenia can make them get a little too sleepy, but not as bad as the shot did! What else is he taking? Do you have a copy of Plumb's Veterinary to see if there is a problem with drug interaction? Sending vines and hugs for Sly and you!!

I've always given 1/4 tab Cerenia too. First time we took him in for vomiting after the string, that vet prescribed a full tab:nailbiting: I didn't notice until that evening when we were going to give it and we just gave the normal 1/4 - confirmed with the shelter that that was all they usually gave too. Called the vet when they opened and they insisted that a full tab was his normal dose. This time she prescribed 1/2 tab. In my reading, Cerenia is actually only packaged for use in dogs. The only study for cats recommends the 1/4 tab, but the charts with Cerenia are weight based and I wonder if they are weight basing dosage when the charts that do that are only for dogs. When I talked to my husband about tonight's dose I said he should probably cut him back to the 1/4 tab if he doesn't see a change in Sly by this evening.
He's also prescribed Clavamox and Flagyl. They both usually make a cat feel like crap on their own too :(
Wishing I hadn't brought his puking up and we'd just worked on it on our own and not taken him to the vet.:(
