Good Morning Lantus Land - We are very pleased with Lanky's yellow numbers (almost hit blue last night too). Our vet appointment is today at 9AM California time. They are going to think I am moving in when I arrive with Lanky and his "stuff". I am also looking forward to the discussions and reactions. I should be back on the Board around noon & will post the latest. Lanky's appetite was good as usual this morning as well as his 5P's. Sure hope the vet stress does not impact our forward progress. Lanky is a fairly easy-going guy & has not wigged out at prior vet visits so chances are good.

Hoping you all have an enjoyable day with lots of paw hugs.

Sending many good thoughts your way. Can't wait for an update.
Numbers are looking great!

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, Vet Apt today

We wish you well at the vet's today Susan and Lanky! Pretty yellow to start the day off....that's niiiice!
Hey, something to think about....and maybe look forward to...
We are have the Full Moon party here on Thursday....if Lanky can come, we would be so happy. He can just catch a moonbeam and come on down to Florida. It is the Full Flower Moon...so the theme will be flowers....all over the place!! My two get carried away with the decorating...LOL....they are looking forward to having all the kitties here and that will make these next days go very quickly!
they do their ritual moon dances...Shadow & Moonie perform a special dance for the full moon...and well, instead of fearing it, they howl at it! fll_moon
Bring Your Own Catnip of course!!

Looking forward to hearing about your day....hope Lanky takes it all in his stride....HUGS!!!

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, Vet Apt today

Best of luck at the vets today; I am sure Lanky's number should not be affected if past visits have been fine.

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, Day-stay @ vet for ultra-sound

Just got home from vet, but Lanky is staying for a while. Ultra-sound tech comes in later today & will do abdominal check. Vet will also take samples for IAA/ACRO test and process appropriately. And, got a psct. for Levemir if & when we need it. I'll pick Lanky up later this PM. Vet will run some BGs with our ReliOn meter. Now all I have to do is wait or maybe take a nap too.

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, Day-stay @ vet for ultra-sound

Ask questions about the shipment of the draws for the tests, like how were they packed and sent over nite, and if frozen, and ask for copies of any other tests done at this time, plus get pictures from the u/s. If you get a chance, ask them to point out what's in the blurs. Personally, I can't see a thing even if I squint, but I still wanted the pictures - I had to have something to show for all that money!
Follow up with the vet to get them to confirm the draws were well received at msu, and what date/time. Be sure they confirm the draw did not end up in the mail room and not at the lab.
The tests are done on Wed I think, so keep asking the vet for status. I got a printout that said tests ordered, then the next time it had one result on it and the other still showing as ordered. The last sheet I got for Ollie had both results, but not the interpretation. I am stopping at the vets on the way home to say i want the last sheet of stuff.

It all went pretty smooth this time, for Oliver, because we already suffered with no knowledge of what had to be done when we sent away Shadoe's draws. And when you get the results, ask for an explanation and if your vet can't explain to your liking, tell the vet to get on the horn with one of the guys over at msu - that's what my vet did as she did not quite believe the IAA result so she wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Good luck on the results, and remember that positive or negative, it's all good data to know.

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, Day-stay @ vet for ultra-sound

Hi Susan, We are thinking of you and Lanky and hope that his issue will be resolved with these tests. Stu so much enjoyed seeing Lanky at his "camp" party. Did he like the mouse stew? See you at the Full Moon Party on Thurs. at Shadow and Raja's.

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, back from vet

We're baaaaaaaaak! From vet that is. Lanky did pretty well. Belly shaved for ultra sound which showed no outstanding issues and will be a good baseline for the future. There is some "gastroenternitis" and vet suggested 1/4 10mg tab Pepcid AC 2xday for a while. Vet said he was quite good during his stay but did not pee. First thing in the door, Lanky headed to his water fountain. Vet only took 1 BG @ +6 = 319. Lanky did not eat at vet either. Lanky is laying in the family room taking a serious bath as I type.

I'll get a +11 & the PMPS but we don't have much data to go on in deciding tonight's game plan. Maybe a cycle @ 7U +12 to calm down or maybe do something that addresses those flat yellows. D - what are you thinking?

PS Lab results form MSU on IAA/ACRO to follow.

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, back from vet

I'm happy for the good ultrasound! Yeah!

I think Lanky is ready for 7.25 units. If he's dropping at PS, you might want to wait until tomorrow. Sometimes vet stress affects them in weird ways. So far this doesn't look like a stressy number so he might be ok for an increase tonight.

Re: 5/21 Lanky AMPS 268, back from vet

Great news on the u/s - I bet Lanky is very happy to be home again.
Good luck on the tests at msu.

So happy to hear the u/s went well.
I guess we will all be waiting for those MSU results.
Maybe FDMB memebers should be getting volume discount.

Good luck with that dosecrease too.

Libby - given Lanky's day at the vet, what do you think would be the optimal, fewest times to test tonight? I was hoping to give him a little rest (& me too!).

This is a good night to get rest. Get a +3 and maybe a +6. Really, I think you'll be fine having a solid night's sleep.
