Upped Susie's dose to 3.0 units this morning. It makes me a little nervous after last Thursday but I want to break out of so many yellows.

I have an appointment for her to get a mini chem on Saturday. Hope the convenia shots will have brought down her white blood cell count.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and a "shout out" to Suzanne and Darcy on the encouraging news!

Do a +1 to figure if she stopped going down. The plan will have to be adjusted from there. she could bounce back up.
Sorry, I just saw this. Susie was down to 157 at +1.5. I plan on feeding her another can of FF at +2. I am really tired today. I walked in on my Mom earlier today and she was trying to burn off some plastic, from a zip lock bag she had put in her toaster oven, and she was just watching this small fire in her toaster over. I told her to turn it off and she intentionally ignored me. Really stressful day with my Mom. She will be 90 next Sunday and suffers from some dementia. Anyway, Karen, what should my plan be tonight? I don't want to have to test every hour on the hour and am hoping that the extra can of food at +2 will raise her up. Should I give her a mc or hc food to stop the drop? Need advice.

Summer, did you find out anything about Susie’s blood values, or did they send the blood out to a lab?

It looks like she came back up for you tonight, so I'm happy to think that you are asleep right now and will have a good rest!

What would be the meter variance for a double dip be? A greater dip, twice?
I think it means that a 186, a 223 and a 196 are all approximately the "same" number if you take into consideration that the meter readings can vary by +/- 20% (isn't that awful, I would prefer much more accuracy). I am especially concerned about this variance at the lower numbers because, think about it... I just got a 60 on Mr. Darcy. Now that could be a 48 or it could be a 72.

Hugs to you, Summer. I'm sorry about your mother. It's so hard, isn't it. I had my mom here with me for quite a while before she passed away (and I am so glad that I did, but that does not mean it wasn't difficult.) I know what it is like. That is very stressful. It sounds like she needs a helper/sitter maybe for some of the time? I hired someone (not a medical person, more like a sitter/friend) to come over sometimes to just be with her and watch over her. They became friends. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I agree. 20% is too great a difference - either way!

I live with her. She was in her kitchen. I have my own, small kitchen. It is in kind of a "Mother-In-Law" section of the house. I am home almost all the time because I have social anxiety so she is rarely alone. It just blew my mind watching her watch her toaster oven with a fire in the bottom and not doing anything to turn it off. When I told her to turn it off she just ignored me. So much smoke filled her kitchen and I was afraid it was going to kill our birds in the two adjoining rooms. It all started three days ago when she put a bag of chips, in a zip lock bag, in the toaster oven and turned it on. Seems common sense just went out the window the last few days. I have walked in to her kitchen many times early in the morning and she has left something on. A stove burner, a coffee warmer. She is going to burn down our house, and kill all our beloved pets, and it scares me to death. Thanks for your compassion.
