Got home from work, took a nice drive. Then Moses and I had some fun playtime. Until he just ate tons grass! And had pukus! He's so addicted!

Anyways, it's good to have some time to think about Moses. I actually have had some good thinking time. Last night, I was beginning to freak out about which x-ray, what x-ray, what not. And I saw my cat happily watching me wanting to play. And noticed what a mess I am, and how my cat is here and healthy right now. How I'm missing out in the moment of now and today by freaking out about the future. And instead of freak out, we watched the sun go down together.

I just feel like I'm gaining some good perspective. Getting used to hearing about the "heart disease" and his age makes me just want to hug him and enjoy him more. I have a friend at work who was telling me about her kitties. Who all went through these horrible deaths when they were 15. And how hard the surgeries are for the cat and bean. Nonetheless, the grief at the end. Ugh...

It's just kinda opened my eyes a bit.

Hi Erica

PS Re: the cost. I know it's a big investment, but it's better to do it now then have things go wrong (heaven forbid) and end up spending a lot more all of a sudden. I have seen some animals come to us in crisis, with records from their vets that say "recommend echo" months ago, and their families have felt incredible regret. I have made decisions based on money for my animals and always keep this in mind -- is this something I will think is reasonable if the worst happens?

Ya, I still want to be prepared for the worst. I just want Moses to have the best quality of life... I have a lot to think and pray about. I really appreciate everyone's input  No harm in still calling the diagnosis clinic tomorrow and asking about the ECHO. That's still the gameplan.

More marination time ahead for these thoughts and feelings. Less grass.

(((Erica))) you really have put your thoughts in perspective & I'm proud of you for being so strong..it's not easy thinking about & facing the unknown. I think about all the time I spend online sometimes obsessing over this & that for Sadi & Baby when I need to just stop & realize they are here right now & just enjoy them...play...etc. I am praying for Moses too (((Moses)))
ok..totally changing the subject..but tonight we were outside & Sadi was eating grass & I almost took a pic & sent it to you..cuz u & Moses are who I immed thought of lol! Baby must have shared some recipies with Sadi from the cookbook they are creating : )

Erica, if you can, it would be so worth it to see a cardiologist and have the echo done. With the right meds, cats can do well with heart disease, and you get used to hearing that just like you get used to hearing diabetes. There's a wonderful feline heart group on Yahoo Groups: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/feline-heart/. You'll learn a lot there and get lots of support. Hugs to you and Moses.
