I'm not quite sure what I think of these "PS" numbers that are a bit out of range, but so far she always brings it back down. We're almost 4 weeks without juice now, and Mr P seems to be hanging in there!
We had a very awesome evening last night! A couple hours after dinner, which was served upstairs in her rocking chair (more about that in a minute!), Trix came down all on her own to visit while DH and I were vegging in front of the TV! First she snuggled with me for a few minutes, and then she really settled in on his lap for a good amount of time, looking quite adorable. When she was done snuggling with him, she settled in on the arm of the couch, which she hasn't done in quite a while. She ate one of her rounds of dinner while there. It was so very wonderful
- and another huge kitten step for Trix!!
She was also excessively feisty last night! I had no "unusual" problems with the gelcaps (went down on the third try), but she was having NOTHING to do with fluids at all. We got 25mls out of 100mls in and that was it...she was DONE. I was planning on switching from doing fluids daily to every other day this week, but I was also hoping last night would have been the "start", thus making tonight her first skip night. But, now we do have to do them tonight, since last night ended up being a skip. Our vetty had wanted us to try every other night to see how she does...a QOL thing. If she doesn't seem to feel well, then we'll go back to daily fluids.
She still likes MamaBean to hold the plate most of the time, but I do think she is making slow forward progress towards eating independently. She really proved to me last night that some - if not all - of her issues (eating with me holding the plate, and hanging out upstairs most of the time) are now psychological. She was trotting in and out of the laundry room while I was prepping kitty dinners...this is one of my favorite old habits of hers that is steadily becoming more consistent. Anyway, one of those times she was a little slow and the laundry room door (which swings and is very heavy) almost landed on her tail. Since I tend to be too reactionary, I gasped...and my gasping startled her. When I let her out of the laundry room after that, she scurried right upstairs to her safe-haven rocking chair. I brought her back down to show her it was safe, but that was even worse...when I put her down, she scurried under the couch! Poor girl...she's so sensitive. I pulled her out of there and took her back to the rocking chair, where she settled until she decided to come down and visit.
So she is definitely nervous from all of this, but she's working her way through it and is becoming more relaxed and secure each day.
She really seems to feel as close to 100% as Trixie gets, aside from her poor rattled nerves.
I'm off today...chores and hanging with my kitties. Have a great day, LL!
