Wish I was high every afternoon, it might make dealing with Jack easier...LOL ;)

Anyway, tried to do a curve yesterday, got pretty much what I expected, good numbers in the morning, high in the afternoon, and an exhausted momma who didn't get up overnight to grab a +6pm number. :( Looking at the recent pattern he is exhibiting, I might try some new things:

He generally insists on kibble, so aside from constantly trying to get him off that, I may try to give him the prime filets and pate in the morning and see if he will eat the pate and kibble if necessary at night. That may balance his numbers better....not sure. He is always given pate, he just doesn't always eat it, so that's where the other stuff (bribes) comes in. He also seems to naturally go lower over night, so maybe I can use that to my advantage.

I started looking at the Levemir, and holy hat, is it expensive here in the US. Unless Jack would need a much lower dose than the glargine to make the vial last 3 months or so, I'm not sure I can afford it. It's about $128 for the glargine he's on now at walmart by me, and that lasts about 2 months. The Levemir is anywhere between $305-$326 a vial at various pharmacies by me, including walmart. There is apparently no generic option. I know a lot of people get insulin from Canada, so I have to look into that option. Either way, I'm not switching over the summer anyway (I'm BACK to NYC again this weekend :banghead:) so I have some time to research, and Jack has some time to surprise me with cooperation (ROFL!!!)

The 9Lives Pate case is set to be opened this weekend, so maybe that will get him to eat what he should be. The freeze dried treats need to wait for the next paycheck to be ordered online.

So that's our sad, Friday story. Hope you all have a good weekend and your fur kids cooperate better than Jack!

Looks like he’s bouncing at might and clearing by morning or not getting duration. I know lantus was cheaper from Canada. When I bought it there wasn’t a generic. There still is not a generic for Lev.
