Happy Fursday LL! Our thoughts and prayers go out to our ailing sugarbabies, civvies, friends and family.

Gracie had a better day yesterday...first day in many days with NO PINK on her SS cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon When I got home last night, she was so glad to see her mommy...headbutts and purrs galore. She has always been affectionate with me but in the last couple of months, she's been REALLY affectionate...lots of purrs, cuddles, and headbutts. She looks like she's doing the flat yellow thing so she'll probably either slide down today or....most likely since it is Thursday, I've worked all day, and Mike has to go to bed early for work tomorrow....she'll do it tonight   Machts nichts.....I just want her in good numbers. I can sleep when I'm old

All seem to be improving still which is good. Mom should be out of the hospital today. Teddi's abscess is no longer discernible on the outside. I have to go to Glenda's mom's funeral today...very sad indeed. And yes, Tobey is going to have a dental probably week after next. Thanks to Julie, they will be doing a FEBart test on him to see if that could be causing his gum issue but the vet thinks he probably has some other latent virus...calcivirus or even herpes...possibly going on which is related to that nasty stuff he had last fall if you all remember (the scary high temps, etc).

On an OT note: I just had an article published in the May/June issue of the National Wetlands Newsletter regarding Long-Term Management of Mitigation Sites. I am happy with the way it turned out...never realized there are so many hoops to jump through in getting a professional article published. I am writing another one for them for later this year. I'm off to TBP. A little stressful there right now.....I'm already running three copper mining EIS's and they want me to handle a very, very controversial EIS for a proposed landfill north of San Diego; there are enormous issues with local Native American Tribes (rightly so). I think, having done all the field work for the wetlands, etc. and met tribal members, this one would be a tough one for me to be unbiased on. It is sacred land and you can feel it when you are there.

Have a wonderful day. I hope I can perhaps check condos at lunch.

Re: 5/19 Gracie AMPS 278

Landfill on sacred land. Humans suck.

Congrats on your article being published.

Glad Gracie is generous with her headbutts and purrs. Good luck with Tobey's testing and dental. I'm so happy to hear Teddi's abcess is getting better.

Re: 5/19 Gracie AMPS 278

Congratulations on your publication! That is a really big deal!

Gracie looks good! Love the headbutts, purrs, and cuddles! No pinks is awesome! She is just sailing along and sounds like she is happy about it.

Glad to hear that your mom is doing better! My thoughts are with you on the funeral. Always a sad time.

Re: 5/19 Gracie AMPS 278

Sounds like you have an extremely interesting job. Congratulations on the published paper!!! That's huge! I've always thought the Native Americans have gotten the short end of the stick ever since we showed up on their doorstep. Kind of reminds me of that TV show "The Event." The aliens need a new planet cuz theirs is a goner so they come here and plan on eradicating most of the earths population so there's room for their species. I hope they're allowed to keep what is theirs this time, especially sacred ground...least we can do. I'm now off my soapbox...

Looks like Gracie had a good AM cycle yesterday. She and Champ are only one point away from each other this morning. I'm hoping to see blue this morning, but I never count on that. :-D

I hope you have a good day at work. I still think it should be work two days and have five day weekends!!

Re: 5/19 Gracie AMPS 278

Congratulations on the paper. I agree with Patty, it sounds as if you have a fascinating job. What is wrong with our world when something sacred is less important than junk? That says it all, doesn't it? Now, I'm off my soapbox. Hope Gracie continues to improve. Thanks forhelping me stay positive thru some tough days. It's appreciated.

Re: 5/19 Gracie AMPS 278

Hi guys .. you know gracie and her style, it will be tonight she drops! But you guys are always prepared and do such an amazing job taking care of her .. congratulations on your publication, how exciting! I am glad to hear your mom and tobey are both feeling better .. keeping you in our thoughts today ...

Re: 5/19 Gracie AMPS 278

Gracie is being a mommy's girl is she? She probably misses having her mommy around after those holidays you took! I miss my morning head butts, hugs and purrs..... But i'll get my fill tomorrow!!! Yahoo!

I'm glad to hear your mom and Teddi are doing better, and sounds like it might be a hard day going to funeral is never a good thing. ((((HUGS)))

It sounds like we work in the same kinda field Marje, i know i read your profile and it said you were a biologist but i didn't realize you were involved in EIS? I work as an environment technician for a uranium mine/mill, and i do have a degree in environmental science. You almost sound like our provincial regulators that oversee our site, they are called environment project officers, they oversee a variety of mining operations, uranium, gold, diamond, coal, etc, similar to your job? I'd love to see a copy of your article, is it online somewhere? I also agree with you on First Nations issues, it is also a very sensitive subject in our province. Our mine/mill is on a traditional trapline, but thankfully no one really seems to have a problem with us being here.

Congratulations on the paper. DH just rolled his eyes when I read your comments about publishing scientific papers. BTDT!

Hugs for today, it is going to be a tough one, but then Gracie can have you for the whole weekend!

Yay Gracie! They always seem to want to take a dive on the nights you need sleep the most.. but on those nights, you wouldn't be able to sleep anyways because you're worried.

I am happy to hear your DM is going home! That's awesome. I hope she is well.

Yay Teddi! Does she seem to be feeling better? I hope Tobey's stuff goes well, we will keep him in our thoughts.

I am sorry to hear about the funeral. I don't even remember my father's funeral and what I do remember doesn't seem like it happened to me. I hope your friend is ok, we will keep her in our thoughts.

How exciting about your publication!!! That is awesome!!! I'm gonna see if I can look at it a little later!

Happy Thursday!

Hi guys!

Congrats on the article publication. I looked it, bookmarked the page so I can go back later and read. Good luck with the upcoming one with the areas of the native Americans. It is sensitive but I have no doubt that you will handle it well, with respect to all sides involved.

ANd very glad all are on the mend. Good news on Teddi. And Tobey - a dental! I am sure that the KTSS will be allover that one, and won't give the poor boy a moments rest. I hope that the test involved are revealing, but nothing serious. Ok Tobey? No more serious stuff....

and Gracie - nice blues today - better: YAY!!! Too fun on the comment that she'll find the greens tonight. Never a perfect moment - what fun would that be?

Have a great night guys!

Good evening all. Gosh what a day.....so busy at work and we found a little tiny baby bunny with a broken paw by our building so I ran it to the Wildlife Rehab Center in Tucson in the midst of the work craziness. I hope he will be ok. They were going to start with some fluids and pain meds and let him stabilize. Then raced back to work and then the funeral and then raced home just in time to make Gracie's shot time ON time. Dinner....and now just trying to get in some Mike and kitty time.

Thank you all for your posts. I promise tomorrow I'll go back through them and write you all back. I would love to spend time in LL tonight but I'm tired and Mike leaves again tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening. Thinking of you all.

have a wonderful evening. i'm just now making it to your condo and tried to look up your article - looks like you have to subscribe to the newsletter to see it. kudos to you, though, on getting it published! i'm sure you're good at walking the tightrope in the touchy situations, like the native american lands.

cool that you and tracy are in related fields!

glad your mom is better and tobey's getting his dental. i'll be curious about that bartonella's . . .
