Yesterday's Condo

It is a beautiful day here and the kitties (and me) are starting the day out slowly. Gabby surfed blue all night. What a good girl!! She's been keeping guard on the hall. She did try to steal Gizmo's breakfast. He had such a sad and shocked expression (why, I have no idea since she does this routinely) that I snatched his bowl out from under Gabby and fed Gizmo on the counter. He was so happy that he was purring while chowing down.

My thoughts are with Kathy...

Nice surfing Gabby! She must have been extra hugry from catching all those blues waves that she felt entitled to Gizmo's meal:)
Nice to hear Gizmo was saved and got to do some counter surfing :-D

Gabby's having a very good day!!

The latest from NATO central is that Lake Shore Drive (perhaps the major north-south thoroughfare through the city and one that has the benefit of a view of the Lake) is closed for about 3 miles north of where the NATO meeting will be held. There was a section of about 1.5 miles that's been closed but this extended closure was announced not that long ago. Basically, it's closed from where I live to the convention center. My street has a complete parking and stopping ban. I have a very strong suspicion that this means it's the route for the Presidential motorcade.

The evening news is broadcasting that there's a protest going on in the Loop.

Wow, the Presidential motorcade is coming. Maybe the Prez wants to stop and visit Gabby?

I think Gabby's pancreas got tired.

Well, now the major street immediately west of me that accesses the hotel where the President is staying is closed until further notice. The irony of these street closures is that my building manager swore there would be no streets blocked in the vicinity of our building during the summit. Hah!
