Hello!

Here is Billie's condo from yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=118932 Her PMPS was 248, and she jumped down to 186 at +2 and 160 at +3. I was a bit worried about the +2 being so different from the pre-shot number, but I checked again at +5 and she was up at 176. I didn't post that in yesterday's thread because it was super late at night. I'm wondering why she went up at +5 instead of down.

Today, she's starting at 229. I hope everyone is doing well!

Just to touch on your question about rising at +5 instead of dropping lower, it could have been that she reached her nadir early and was on the upswing. Those crazy nadirs love to move around with some kitties, and although +6 is the middle of the cycle, they can show up at anytime, which is why we like to get lots of different testing times, and not just the static ones. Once you have more days on your ss, you will be able to get a better idea as to an 'average' for Billie. BUT... our kitties do love to shake things up here and there, so the average is just that, and I'm sure she will throw you a curve ball here and there to keep you on your toes :lol:

Good morning, Deanna!

Meters are allowed to have a 20% variance, so it may not be that Billie's number actually went up at +5. It could be nothing more than that simple meter variance - 160 and 176 would be within 20% of each other. (Don't forget to record your +5 on the spreadsheet. ;-) )

Is the testing getting easier for you? How's Billie doing with it?

Hello everyone! It's nice to meet more people and cats :smile:

I didn't think about variance - that's possible! I'm definitely hoping to see a pattern of some sort. I'm still wondering if there is some bouncing going on, because Day 1 and most of Day 2 had such lower numbers than the most recent readings. We'll see what her +2 is like.

Shelly, the testing is actually getting way easier! I am surprised and relieved. Her ear is bleeding much easier already, and I think she is getting used to the routine. She will sit still for a good 30 seconds instead of trying to dart away immediately. I have been giving her a bit of chicken or wet food with parmesan cheese on it after every test, so I'm sure that helps. Thank you for encouraging me to get started with it and not give up!

That's great news on the testing! It's so hard to get started, I know. I mean, who in the world wants to make their cat bleed?! It's so scary starting out, but those numbers will tell us so much about what Billie's pattern will be.

I agree...bribery is a great way to make sure kitty is cooperative! :lol:

We're at 177 on the +2. That's pretty similar to what she did last night. I have to work today but could get a +3 before I go if that's recommended, and my boyfriend is coming over to check on her while I'm out. I just made a fresh pot of boiled chicken, and Billie is very happy right now.

Hello! I am at work now but can still post. I got a +3 before I left, and it was 189. I guess that could be meter variance, but I'm wondering if there's a bit of bouncing or something else going on since that's two cycles in a row where she was down at +2 and up at +3 or +4? I guess we'll see!

might be a bounce - i'm not positive. if you get another test tonight and it's higher, like at +3 or 4, then i'd say definitely a bounce. Sometimes they're hard to see until the cat is well into them.

Thanks! I got a +2 and it was 226. That seems like a big drop to me, so I'll check at +3 and see what's up.

Update: +3 is 203.
