Another lovely day in the heartland, made more so by a hot cup of coffee and a house filled with furry doughnuts. They hold down furniture all over the house.
Mala is definitely feeling better these days. As my son was attempting to do his math homework, she hovered over him like a fuzzy vulture and tried to swat his pencil out of his hands. She gets that intensely focused expression on her face, turns her head to one side, then STRIKES! I can tell she's laughing. She followed up that act by savaging some of Max's Lego toys and bringing them up in her teeth, one by one. Like she had been wrestling mice and was bringing the carcasses home to feed her young.
Definitely feeling better. A cat who can be naughty feels no pain.
My son turns 11 tomorrow. He gets a public party on Saturday with friends, but a family party with cake and his favorite dinner tomorrow - home made manicotti. He's going to get most of what he wants - Lego Star Wars sets (for Mala to murder on a later date), a wooden katana, a water gun, some video games, etc. Indoor and outdoor stuff. He has an entire arsenal of nerf weapons in his room, and he hauls out the arm load on weekends to play with friends. They all have nerf guns, so it becomes a battle royale here, with each 5 minutes of play punctuated by 20 minutes of rule development and argument. I love this age.
Happy Tuesday to you all.
