Last Condo

Sorry we were MIA yesterday. I just never got a chance to sit down and do a condo until after midnight, and I felt like that was really too late, even for me (although I have done it before).

Harvey surfed very nicely in the shallow water of the lagoon yesterday, then crawled up on the beach for the evening, which I appreciated, since we were gone to bowling.:) Today he looks pretty similar. The difference is that yesterday his appetite was very good, and today not so much. No tummy meds yesterday, but I gave them to him about an hour and a half ago, and so far he's eaten most of his breakfast. Maybe I should have given him a bigger piece of Cypro - I give just 1/4 tablet, although the vet said up to 1/2 bid. I'll see how he's doing tonight and may go for the larger piece.

I survived the first day of the Whole 30 challenge, despite the temptation of garlic pretzel bites at the bowling alley. Mark's teammates were very kind and did not get any, either, in solidarity. :) Don't know how long that will last, but I appreciated it! I need to get to the grocery store to purchase some fruit juices, as they are allowed (as long as no added sugar) and I otherwise have very few beverage options. I am already sick of plain water! I'll get some lemons to squeeze into it, too. I have always been a picky eater, so things like this are hard for me to do. I'm hoping to broaden my tastes a bit, trying some of the recipes they recommend, even if I'm not sure I'll like them. What have I got to lose (I know - weight! :woot:)??

I tried a slightly more energetic walk video yesterday, but still a beginner one. One of the moves that wasn't in the video I did Wednesday killed my heel. I literally was screaming in pain! :blackeye::confused::eek: I made it through the rest of the workout by just walking when that move came up, but I was miserable the rest of the day, despite two icing sessions. It's a bit better today, so I'm contemplating trying the first video again. I don't want to have to forgo exercising, but I don't want a repeat of yesterday, either!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Extra strong vines for Smokey.

Nice numbers for Harvey. I hope his appy picks up. I hope your heel is feeling better. If you do that video again, just remember not to do that part.

Looking good today Deputy Harvey!! Good thing you made it to the lagoon....China seems to be taking a detour today!!

Have you got a swimming pool near you Trisha? You might want to see about doing exercises in water...doesn't put any strain on sore stuff and can really be a lot of fun (but still a pretty good workout)

Thanks for visiting, us, Carla, Chris and Rhiannon.

Harvey didn't stay long in the lagoon, and tonight he's pulling that old tried and true trick of going up instead of down. He's eating okay - finally finished his dinner after a couple of hours. I'm on the fence about giving him tummy meds.

Our internet has been down for almost 6 hours! Just when DH was planning to get another hour of work in! We watched TV and had dinner instead, and it just came back up. So he's working and here I am! Did I miss anything important??

So I did that workout that I tried last week, and it did not overly aggravate my heel. It was uncomfortable, but bearable. I guess I'll have to just skip that one step for a while, and hope this damn plantar fasciitis goes away! :blackeye: I hope I can work up to a two mile walk by next week. @Chris & China, no pool nearby. I wouldn't get in a bathing suit if you paid me right now, anyway!:stop:

We had brined, baked chicken, mixed veggies and salad for dinner. I'm off to make my own mayonnaise so I can have tuna salad for lunch tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Harvey seems to have an attachment for the 90's today. Sending appy vines.

6 hours without internet?:eek: Day 2 of the Whole 30 is done and dusted. Think in terms of shorter goals. Get to the end of week 1 first. I have to achieve shorter goals when I'm rowing or I'll get too intimidated by the whole thing. Would a stationary bike be any easier on your joints?

6 hours without internet? :eek::eek:
I know! I thought I was gonna go crazy! I really needed a glass of wine! :p On top of that, DH took the opportunity to replace my monitor, which had been going black every once in a while for several seconds. The new one has it's own problem - there's black box message that keep popping up every minute or two, and he can't figure out what's causing it! It's very annoying. I'm almost ready to tell him to put my old one back!!

Aside from the fact that we have nowhere to put a stationary bike, it would be too hard on my stupid arthritic toes. :( Walking really is the best thing I've found that doesn't aggravate all my issues too much. With this new problem I'll just have to modify things a little. Seems like the universe is against my losing weight!

I had the same heel problem a few years ago, it eventually cured itself but I did find having personalized insoles from the podiatrist helped a lot, as well as wearing Birkenstock sandals most of the day, they really support your whole foot. Good luck Tricia with the diet regime, hang in there!

Appy vines for Harvey coming his way.

Nice to hear from you, @suki & crystal (GA) ! Unfortunately, I already wear special shoes and orthotics due to my arthritis, so I don't think I can change that. I did read about something called heel cups that I will look into and see if they will work with my shoes. If this doesn't clear up with the icing my doctor recommended, I will probably have to go see my podiatrist, but it takes a month or more to get in to see him!
