Good morning all! Cool crisp morning. Great way to start the week!

Curve went well Saturday. Did a dose increase Sat night and everything was good until PMPS Sunday. DH and I went and ran errands and DS fed the cats, but he gave some FF gravy, not knowing that he shouldn't. Ouch! Tarragon hadn't been in the 400's in a long time. Hopefully it was just a spike from the food and he settles back down again.

The nanners are a hit with Tarragon. Turnup could care less, but that is her attitude about most things other then my DH. Hope everyone has a great day!

oh I hope Tarragon clears the food spike soon and nicer numbers are seen this evening.
Glad the nanners are a hit.

Have a lovely day

Re: 5/16 Tarragon AMPS 302

Good morning .. sorry to hear tarragon hit the red floor for a bit but I'm sure he'll clear it soon .. glad to hear the nanners were a hit! Have a great day guys

Morning. Oops on the red floor... looks like he's coming down. That pink sure looks yellow to me... :-D

Yay on the nanners! Mannie would be so proud. :-D :-D

Have a great day guys!

Hi Melissa!! I actually put all the gravy foods with the bottle of Karo so my DD want make any mistakes. Except, of course, that would entail her actually feeding Champ...ever. She says the smell of wet food stinks so bad that it makes her want to throw up. I think she doesn't want to have to feed the cat.

I'm glad Tarragon likes the nanners. Champ is with Turnup...he couldn't care less

Have a wonderful Monday!!! :-D

At least Tarragon got to enjoy a HD treat!!! He's already on the way down. These things happen. I use a Sharpie and write the % of carbs on the lid of each can, and whether it is LC, MC, or HC. That way I don't make a mistake in a moment of panic (or whatever)!

Enjoy the day,
Ella
Hey Tarragon, Don't forget the Full Flower Moon Party tonight at Zoe's in Florida. Chef Mannie's menu looks great and there will be lots of impromptu flower foods to eat, too.
See you later,
Rusty

Hey guys! I snuck on the puter. I will be there for the party and can't wait to see you all. Florida will be nice since it has been cold here in Oklahoma. Oooops. Gotta go. She is coming.

I hope Tarragon clears the spike soon.. Last night Willy was following Gizmo around picking off pieces of the bullystick he was eating. We didn't notice right away until we heard him crunch crunch crunching on a big piece (promptly got taken away-- choking hazards  ). Then he was trying to eat if out of Gizmo's fluff. Ugh! His BG spiked high last night but he's to almost be back to normal.

I just ordered some nanners for my guys... I'm not sure if they are going to be too thrilled or not with them. Willy doesn't like to play and Zell and Rasta are kinda particular.

Happy Monday!

Arg. Silly Willy. That is the first time Tarragon has gotten something he wasn't suppose to, but it was my fault for not covering that with my son before we left. He has been at college this whole time and the cats were on dry food when he left. Oh well. Lesson learned anyway.

Hopefully Willy's spike will come down. Tarragon wasn't too bad this morning, but those red numbers last night woke me up a little.

Tarragon is really playful, and has really taken to the nanners. He has been dragging it from room to room with him. Turnup could care less and is your typical red tabby daddy's girl. She doesn't like anyone who is not one of the three of us (my DH, son, or me). Most of the time, she wants nothing to do with my son or I either and will walk over and bite me just to be a stinker. She has brought house sitters and real estate agents to tears and had them cornered in rooms before. Now my DH thinks she is just the most precious thing in the world and, to him, she is.

why, turnup sounds just charming!

glad you shared that about your son and the food - i'll have kids home this summer too and better make certain if any of them are feedin punkin they're getting it from the LC stockpile! i do keep the gravy in a different cupboard with the karo, but you never know.

punkin doesn't really play with the nanners, but he really likes to sleep with his face on them - and often one under his body. i think it looks like he's trying to hatch it! ;-)

I see in Tarragon's profile that he has asthma. Is he on a flovent puffer? There are a few asthma kitties here.

Also I recently learned that Maine Coons can have heart issues. Some of them. Just a heads up if you weren't aware of this. Just in case.

Karrie - Tarragon has had asthma for about 6 years. Our old vet just kept giving him steroid shots about every 6 - 8 weeks. We kept questioning the diabetes factor and he said it was an old wives tale. Tarragon had his last asthma attack (and steroid shot) on Sept 14, 2010. We changed vets a couple of months later when he lost 5 pounds and started peeinfg out side of the box. Of course, he was then diagnosed with FDB and we started him on insulin. He hasn't had an attack since. Our new vet decided to wait for an attack and then we will do a breathing treatment and start on flovent, but nothing yet.

I had never heard that about heart problems and Maine Coon cats. They are such a sweet breed, but they do gave some health challenges. Maverick looks like a typical sized Maine Coon. Tarragon was a runt and topped out at about 15 pounds when he was 7. Now he is 10 and about 10 pounds.

I'm glad to hear Tarragon has been asthma free for some time now. Good that you have a better vet!!

Wish you could have read some of the old condos about Binks and his contraband!!! He and Gracie like the far out stuff like spaghettios (binks) and cornbread (gracie).

Thank you for your well wishes today!!

I'm so sorry about your old vet and that Tarragon has diabetes as a result :(. Sadly not enough vets are up to speed on the latest for asthma or diabetes. Steroids like that are outdated. I wonder if they don't care, don't know better, or think the owners won't give their cats puffers.

Maverick had arthritis, asthma and diabetes. He was a big boy topping 20 lbs but got down to a healthy 15. He is a lightweight for a Maine Coon

Well well looks like Tarragon had a lil gravy treat, i'll bet he enjoyed it! I actually do the same as Ella, i write with a sharpie the carb content on the lid, just so i don't mix them up......and i've done it quite a bit too there has been a few days Leo has gotten 18% without me actually knowing.....OOOPS

You know before i came on this forum i had no idea that kitties could have asthma, and it actually seems pretty common here. I"m glad to hear that he hasn't needed the asthma meds for a few months now, that's good news.

Turnup sounds like a daddy's girl to me!!
