Today

PMPS=214 (0.75u);
Lucy is feeling SUPER good, and that is making me SUPER happy!!!!
She even ate some of the 1st breakfast on her own.
It's yesterday's cypro talking, but what a relief!!!
One dose of cypro usually lasts to cover 2 meals for Lucy, so I may need to give her another dose this evening.
If I give her a smaller crumb, it doesn't do anything, but a 1/4 pill seems to last over 24 hours.
Her numbers are really good too.
She had a "hairball paste" spike at +7.25 last night, which was expected.
Lucy likes Vetoquinol Vitalax, but I stopped giving it to her when she was re-dx'd with FD last year because it's sort of sweet.
But the vet really wanted me to give some to her for her tummy, I was a little hesitant, and he just gave me a tube for free.
I thought if he thought it was that important, I should do it even if it spikes her BG.
The spike was fierce but short, so I think I'll continue doing this for a while, and see if it helps.
I've tried many other hairball remedies, but she doesn't like any of them... I especially so wished she liked coconut oil, but no go.
So it's going to be Vitalax or nothing. I shouldn't have to give her too often once it's maintenance as she doesn't groom much anymore.
I'm also thinking about trying changing her pred schedule back to 5mg every other day, instead of the current 2.5mg every day.
She was on a 5mg every other day schedule for years, but I changed it to a 2.5mg every day schedule last year so her cycles are more even.
But I think her GI condition was generally better when she was on 5mg every other day, so maybe the concentration matters more than the vet or I thought.
The vet will call me today with the b/w & urinalysis results, so I will talk to him about this.
I'd like to thank everyone who visited Lucy's condo yesterday and gave us vines, advice, suggestion and hugs.
Being sick and not eating aren't too new for Lucy, but Lucy was sick in a slightly different way yesterday, so I was scared.
Having all your wonderful support and this place to express my worries helped me stay calm and think straight.
Thank you so much! :YMHUG:
